d.donthuis, thank you for your reply and of course your putting on you tube ep's woderful perfomance of liszt's reminiscences dj.i have attended many recitals inc .may 1982 horowitz royal festival hall london, unfortunately no liszt but ep seems about as good as it goes on your posting to you tube.all the best for 2010 and your pc's,sb.
Wonderful performance, and I don't mind the wrong notes. This performance is much more interesting than all these boring and "correct" performances by another "type writing" young pianist.
Enrico Pace favoured a special brand of (very) grand pianos from an Italian piano builder. However, in later years he also performed on the usual Steinways. When I visited on of his concerts in 2008 in the famous Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, he used a Steinway grand as well.
i made an accidental omission,i should have said,'does mr.pace have pianos specially made for him that can withstand this sort of thing?with respect to him i would not like to get things wrong,he doesn't.
dear donthius thank you for your information.ep is using a fazioli piano in his performance on u tube of liszt's dante sonata.i have previosly tried replying to you but the replies appear not to have got through.these pianos are the pianos i think you mean.i had not heard ep play before a u tube search re. liszts dante soata he being second on the listing after alfred brendel.i love liszt and immediately could tell how fine a lzt player ep was i play blues/boogie jazz piano on a broadwood grand.
You're right, I remember this Faziola name now. You've got through alright. But I was very busy on updating all PC's in the house in december. Now this machine will aid me in producing input to UA-cam much quicker, even in HD (720p mostly) "I'll be back" for sure and a fine 2010 to all as well.
i have to say ' i dont know why anyone else bothered turning up for the competition, perhaps they didn't.perhaps they just turned up to listen and watch.' does mr.pace have pianos specially for him that can withstand this sort of thing?did it collapse and self-destruct while he was taking his bow?
love his piano style. is nice to see a pianist not obsess over wrong notes and play with fire and passion
Hot damn! That finale would wake Master Liszt himself from the grave! Bravo!!!

Ouch, dozens of mistakes, I prefer Earl Wilds version, no offense!
It gets a bit sloppy towards the end.
are you mad?
