This DOES in fact still work as of 1.19.22, contrary to the other comments. You just need to make the ‘lag-proof’ version that silent shows at the end. The redstone configuration is slightly different than the main version and it’s slower, but still produces about 7,200 (120 stacks) of cocoa beans per hour. And let’s be real, who really needs much more than that? Thanks, silent, for another great and reliable farm.

@@mabatch3769 yes! I just watched it! The closest flower forest is really far from my base and our shopping area though. Kind of out of the way from everything else. Thinking I might use his concept for harvesting, but manually run it so I can just grow exactly what I need.
@@crystaldavison8299 So I’ll try to explain how I do it. Instead of pointing a dispenser up, under a block of grass, face a dispenser horizontally at the type of flower you want to grow. Then only that type of flower is grown when bonemealed. In front of the grass block the flower is on, build a 6x5 grass block pad. This pad is what shifts to break the flowers. You can design your own collection system and circuitry or try to find a tutorial. You don’t get quite as good of a flower to bonemeal ratio but you get only the flower you want without having to goto a flower forest. Hope I explained that well enough and it helps you.
@@mabatch3769 yeah, everything I tested had crappy returns. I’m thinking more like a big platform where I can just run around and bonemeal and push a button to have pistons shift the blocks and maybe use the water/hopper method to collect everything.
@@crystaldavison8299 Sounds like that would work, albeit a little slowly. If you have a good source of bonemeal then I wouldn’t worry about the return rate. I’d recommend searching for some other tutorials. I know there’s some good ones out there. Although it’s always more fun, in my opinion, to develop something yourself from scratch. Good luck!

Built in a large single player realm I started fresh in 1.20. Can 100% comfirm it still works but had to use the 2nd version at the end. Please believe one day cycle will provide more than any single player could find a use for! Awesome farm as always Silent! Thank you for the cape and cookies! 👍

Dispensers are pretty easy to get but ok
They're a pain to craft cuz u need bows. I have 3 double chests of bows at my skele farm but if u dont have that u need a lot of string

Great farm, but for some reason it doesn’t work for me, though it should. The problem was the piston Broke the coco before it was bonemealed. I fixed it by replacing the repeater with a regular red stone dust
I have the same problem and tried your fix, but it still breaks the cocoa before it's bonemealing. It's just not bonemealing at all.
Didn’t work for me in 1.18. The piston moves faster than the dispensers
Replace redstone with another repeater so you have 2 facing the back of the design and add two blocks on top of front 2 dispensers with redstone dust on top if the piston is too fast.

Too add too Gozinya Space's comment below. The farm does still work the the second redstone configuration shown at the end of the video, but I'd add a third hopper behind and feeding into the two current hoppers. Right below the jungle wood. With the clock being slower (sorry if that's not correct redstone term) I noticed on occasion some coco beans would leak out the back and the third hopper seemed to fix the leaking coco beans.

I would love to see a Bonemeal farm
If this doesn't work even when checking chunk border or adjusting timing, some changes in the redstones are placed will do the trick:
Replace the redstone torch by redstone dust, n place the two redstone dust powering the back dispensers on the front ones instead. 4:49 on this block place a repeater going backward powering a block that has a redstone torch on its back . On the sticky piston place a redstone dust, this dust must power in default because of the torch above it.

Another awesome Farm - For those that it doesn't work for - watch until the end - Silent gives alternatives for slowing it down - and it works as of today - I had to use the set up for the laggy for it to work - slower rates but way faster than any other method :) - I play PE bedrock
While I get the impression it would take too long for the advent calendar, I would love to see an updated auto tree farm!

im guessing something has changed since this video was made, cause im struggling to get this to work as this video, the dispensers dont shoot the beans on time before the retraction, and if i add a tic to slow it down, the piston simply wont budge

Honestly I do sticky piston in the ground, button in front of it 4 slime blocks, 8 logs.
After like 3 harvests I usually forgot that I even have cocoa bean farm in my world.

Super laggy has a great bone meal farm that gives a good amount of ink sacks. If you need a ton, use the wither/chicken method to get tons of wither roses. Or do both as they are both fun ways

What is the best crop to farm a for to make bone meal. A lot of these farms need bone meal so really want a bone meal farm.
Advent calendar suggestion. WHat about some flying machines. If I remember correctly you aren't the best with those (my memory isn't great btw) but it would be cool.
