Honest question: Once a spike protein is made, won't it attach to other body cells and if your body recognizes this combination of new spike proteins with your own cells, isn't it possible to create an auto-immune reaction killing the host. I read that a Florida MD who was previously fit and healthy died from severe thrombocytopenia after his vaccine. In fact, he had no platelets at all and died of a severe brain hemorrhage. IMO, there are unknown dangers to mRNA vaccines which have no long-term safety data. Thoughts and comments appreciated.

Severe thrombocytopenia is a side effect that has been observed in adenovirus vector vaccines, but not mRNA vaccines.
Spike proteins won't attach to your body cells. They're not "sticky". They float around in the bloodstream stimulating the immune response, and then eventually they're broken down and excreted. If they did stick to your cells and your body recognised the new spike proteins on your own cells, then I guess technically it would cause it to attack them, but only the cells that had the spike protein attached. Normal cells wouldn't be affected, and only a few cells would die (you're not really producing a lot of the protein - not much is needed to stimulate an immune response!). But that just doesn't happen because proteins in your bloodstream don't randomly attach to cells. If they did, then all the other proteins in your blood would also get stuck to cells and you'd have problems.

@@irenesneddon7714 - Dr. Gregory Michael a 56 yo MD from Florida died from a severe thrombocytopenia 2 weeks after his mRNA vaccine. That was back in January 2021. IMO, the newly created spike proteins which have an affinity for human ACE2 receptors stuck to his platelets and created an immune thrombocytopenia.

How does chemically prepared mRNA enter the cells of the body and start utilising the cells mechanism to prepare proteins ? How does the lipid layer protect the mRNA? How is this lipid coated mRNA entering the cells ?

Not quite. mRNA vaccines can code for specific parts of the virus which will trigger the body's immune system without many of the dangers of a real viral infection. The mRNA vaccines do not allow coding for actual viral DNA, so the virus itself won't be able to replicate and cause the same harmful effects. That's why mRNA is generally safer than whole pathogen vaccines for those with compromised immune systems, because there is no risk of an actual viral infection.
Close but the mRNA does code for the entire virus. Just the spike proteins to identify the virus but none of the harmful aspects of the rest of the virus.
