- Engine Sentai Go-onger (炎神戦隊ゴーオンジャー, Enjin Sentai Gōonjā, is Toei Company's thirty-second installment in the Super Sentai metaseries of Japanese tokusatsu television series. It premiered on February 17, 2008, a week following the finale of Juken Sentai Gekiranger, and ended on February 8, 2009. It aired as part of TV Asahi's 2008 Super Hero Time block alongside Kamen Rider Kiva. Its footage was used for the American series, Power Rangers RPM and was dubbed into Korean as Power Rangers Engine Force (파워레인저 엔진포스). The catchphrase for the series is "Rushing by at full-throttle mach speed, our slogan is 'go on!'" (マッハ全開で突っ走る俺たちの合言葉は"ゴーオン！", Mahha zenkai de tsuppashiru oretachi no aikotoba wa "Gō On!").
Power Rangers RPM (Racing Performance Machines) is the seventeenth season of the American children's television series Power Rangers, which uses footage, costumes, and other props from the Super Sentai series. In the case of RPM, the season was an adaptation of Engine Sentai Go-onger, the thirty-second installment of the series..
The season was the third and final to air on ABC stations, premiering March 7, 2009 on ABC Kids. Due to the low ratings of the preceding season, Jungle Fury, RPM was also the final season to be produced and distributed by Disney and Renaissance-Atlantic Entertainment, putting the series on a two-year hiatus until the premiere of Power Rangers Samurai in 2011. - Фільми й анімація

Saving the world from pollution is such a Power Rangers plot line.
Where as 95 percent of humanity being dead and the last line of defense is the rangers is something I'd expect from Sentai.
Kinda but the villains are pointless in Go-onger if you ask me, their motivations involve pollution which doesn't make any sense as their fighting against heroes with vehicle powers. (Which something that causes pollution, since they are using cars etc.)
Especially considering that this was a Disney season so that pollution plotline would definitely be right up Disney's alley

@@blumouse8539 I was watching DekaRanger when I was 15 or 16 years old so it's pretty safe to say I grew up with DekaRanger as both ages are considered child-aged and "growing up" or close to that, are they not? The user never actually specified how old they were at the time of watching Go-Onger. Again, it was still a fair question to asked if you don't understand Japanese then watch the version with English subs, I'd think anyone at any age would have the common sense to do that or at the very least rewatch the show when subs DO come out.
It's crazy how much original footage RPM had.

Beast morphemes could have been better but if we are being honest it was trying to make up for the folleys of the super mega force season.

Don’t get me wrong, go onger had that spirit and it was fun with that never give up tone for the morphing sequence, but RPM with the morph in a slick as hell way, was not messin’ around and was being quick and got straight to the point. It’s pretty badass and I prefer it over Go onger, but overall both had outstanding qualities

Plus in the Japanese version the cgi looks pathetic. They didn't even try to make it look like they're actually holding their helmets! I do like the triple engine noises in the Japanese version- I'll give it that but i still prefer RPM over Go-Onger as a series in general

If anything, it being a 2008 series would mean the graphics would actually look better because of newer technology. I've seen Sentai shows older that Go-Onger with better transformation sequences anyway.

Fun fact:the first sentai team to have 3 people and no additional character added later in the series was taiyo sentai sun vulcan 🌞the 5th sentai team but too bad power rangers doesn't exist at that time
I understand the appeal for choosing the super sentai version due to the simplicity that it does but honestly with how RPM's tone is, their morphing sequence does fit for the intensity that matches the aspect of shit hitting the fan; i am really confused why people talk shit about their morphing sequence.
I mean the first time I ever saw it I never felt thrown off by how "wild" it appeared or a "mess" like some people are claiming here. If anything it works well for the sense of urgency especially since the stakes are consistently high on RPM's universe.

@@GGX120 I said the mood for RPM fits more for the setting than in Go Onger. Go Onger was too wacky and pretty childish even for Sentai standards. While RPM was darker and mature, of course it still has it's fair share of humor but it's much more balanced and less annoying compared to Go Onger.

Why Power Rangers RPM is the only adaptation that went way too far as in that they replace the comedy to post apocalypic universe with no zords communucating.
I prefer drama over comedy. I like that RPM wasn't too cheesy like other seasons but to me it wasn't too dark and I don't think they went overboard at all. The one PR production that comes to mind as one that "went way too far" for me is the Power/Rangers short film by Joseph Khan and Adi Shankar.
This was possible because when Jungle Fury came out, Disney was already planning to cancel the franchise, but since Toei and Bandai already had the Go-Onger toy line in production for America Disney was forced to make a new Power Rangers series to promote it.
RPM would now be, in Disney's eyes, the final season of Power Rangers, so they gave it a lot of creative freedom. RPM's lead producer Eddie Guzelian took inspiration from Mad Max, Terminator, and watched both Go-Onger and the most acclaimed seasons of Power Rangers to create RPM. Although Guzelian was fired in the middle of the season, which would cause some of the writers to resign to support him, he was replaced by Judd Lyne (co-producer and writer of the franchise from uIn space to Time Force and executive producer from Dino Charge to Beast Morpher) who would follow the line of what was established by having experience with seasons like In space, Lost Galaxy and time Force.
Basically RPM was made because Disney was like "this is going to be the last series of the franchise that I'm going to cancel so do whatever you want." Although Saban recovered the franchise in 2011 and the rest is history (the question remains as to what Shinkenger would have been like if Disney adapted it instead of Saban)

People only like RPM cuz it's edgy and dark and try to compare it Go-Onger, which was a show with a different more lighthearted tone. RPM is laughably cringe when it tried to get serious and due to the Gattais that were meant to be sentient animal cars makes it even harder to take it seriously. To those who trash on the effects of Go-Onger looking bad or old, at least make most out of their budget unlike Americans who can't even design a racer jacket or make your own props and costumes or even higher quality toys despite having tons of money at your deposal, isn't that like your specialty?

You know what I hate the most about the rpm is? The zords still have eyes and moving mouths which is honestly jarring for the tone they're trying to make

Really late comment, but that's why I found it extremely hilarious when Scott pointed these eyes out in one episode. I don't recall right now which one it was, but it was amazing nod to the original version.

Actually, the plot explain it in an indirect way when they made the creator of the zords a traumatized girl with no infancy. She reflects what she lacks on the things she builds and the story makes it "logic" within the lore of the series.

I LOVE Lightspeed Rescue! Love the suit designs, the fact that it's a season about rescuing civilians and I love the emergency rescue motif, and how the ranger tech is all manmade.
