  • Sebastian Diezig, cello - www.SebastianDi... - This is the final Piatti Caprice and it's also one of the most famous ones (at least for me). Having heard several other recordings of this caprice on youtube, I believe that while maximum speed is impressive, this piece has a lot of elegance, which comes better across at a somewhat more moderate pace. Anyways, thanks for having followed this project. I am currently thinking of a new project but not yet entirely decided, what it is going to be. I need to do some more research in order to find out, what is doable for me and what is not. Subscribe to my channel if you like my projects.

    Thank you for the Piatti project! It has been a great pleasure to hear your interpretations of the caprices. Have you already decided what your next project will be?

      Lauri Kärrylä hi Lauri, thanks for your nice comment. I think I have made up my mind on my next project, which will take place on this channel. But first I have some other important and time consuming musical activities that I need to take care of. Thank you for following my projects and for your support.

    I'm a beginner at the cello, and my teacher gives me the Popper and Piatti methods and they sure are a good way to learn, bravo to your work with those high level Popper's scores, it's inspiring me a lot, thanks for sharing.

    Dear Mr. Diezig,
    How do you get such a wonderful stacatto slur stroke. I have heard many different approaches I am just curious to know your approach. Also great playing!

    • @MrCellissimo
      @MrCellissimo  6 років тому +1

      areeb96431 it helps to practice the stroke slowly because the synchronization of left and right hand has to be perfect and I think it’s an advantage to have strong arms. My staccato wasn’t always as good, it came with practice.

    After finishing the Piatti project, how would you rank the caprices in difficulty, let's say from easier to hardest (yes im aware there all pretty difficult though i am interested to know what's your opinion) ?

      Good question. Indeed I did a "rating" of sorts. You can find it here: sebastiandiezig.com/wordpress/das-piatti-projekt-caprice-nr-12-von-12-der-abschluss-mit-kleinem-ruckblick/ . It is in german but it shouldn't be too hard to understand.

      @@MrCellissimo Thank you for your answer, and also even its 2 years late i wanna congratulate you on finishing this very difficult project! Beautiful sound, depth, intonation, and musical understanding in your playing!

    I'll ask you something, where did you get the fabric to sweat behind the cello, or did you make it yourself? What does it call? Thank you.

      My grandmother made it for me. I am not sure what it is called but I guess there are commercial ones available.

    May I ask what brand of mic you used? I plan to buy one for recording myself but I'm not sure which is good. Thank you so much.
