Really delighted to see you playing through a Princeton in a recent 5 Watt World vid on brown face Fender amps. I/we love your playing, but somehow it was that vid that drove home how soulful and sweet your playing is on the international stage. Great work, Shane!
Between now (today) and Christmas, buying a new Fender or Gibson is dead easy on a limited budget. Gibson is offering 4 years 0% interest, Fender is close behind with that deal. A new $3400 Gibby is $100-120 a month. A new Gibson J45 or Martin acoustic can be had for $66 a month. If you shop sharply you can cut a deal of the decade as guitar sales have slumped 17% since the end of Covid. After the election, and Trump wins ? They will disappear after 6-10 months. It's what happened in 2016. A stable economy has a way of disappearing those kind of deals. Gibson offered 10% off and 0% in late 2022 when I got my last 335. Sweet deals
I have 6 six strings, all vastly different from each other, basically one for each mood, so if Im in a blues mood or metal mood I can grab accordingly.
Yup. If I'm in a "slick" mood, I grab my 335, Byrdland, or L5. Angry mood... Les Paul, Super Dooper Strat, or my ravaged Gretsch Sparkle top. Feeling country, 52 Tele, L5, Gretsch Country Gent, 63 Strat, G& bluesboy ASAT, or my Jazzmaster. Bluesy ?... any of them.🤣 When I feel really sad I grab my old Harmony or EKO solid bodies, they are 1 step away from firewood, but I love'em.
That was a really nice track, kinda Steely Dan groove and of course your playing and tones were spectacular ! I was fortunate enough to own 10-15 Teles (not at the same time) back when I was doing sessions and replacing the stock Fender p/ups with Bardens was a routine ☺ The Bardens were clear, precise, snappy, balanced and loved all my effects. Glad to see that you are enjoying yours !
How you feel about your ‘52 reissue Tele is exactly how I feel about my 69 Custom Shop Strat! It’s the one guitar that feels best in my hands and I feel I play better with it. I totally get having those two Telecasters, each one serves a unique feel and purpose when playing. Great video Shane and it’s cool to see you have the posters back in your studio!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸😎😎😎😎
The tip fell off of the pickup selector switch on my Telecaster too. I just left it like it is though. It especially doesn't matter to me now since I pulled the neck pickup out of that guitar.
I am amazed looking at your channel at the number of lefties now available. Back in the late 70's and early 80's I was not impressed with the one or two fenders and gibsons I managed to find. Poorly finished. A suggestion from a work mate in Canberra that he had seen an Ibanez leftie in the shop at the time he purchased his silver series for stage work. I wondered what was the catch, first class machine at a price I could not believe. Seems there was none, so I bought a roadstar some years later to have a spare in case something happened on the road.
OH yes ... I have 3 different telecasters ... 1 I had for years ... a Mexico Nashville it was the one Fender presented on their world tour, when it first came out .... I have played it a lot over the years ,,, and then I bought 2 Harley Benton Tele style "vintage models" from Thomann ... Must say I love these two guitars ...
I have three guitars that kind of feel like home to me like how you were talking about your Telecaster. One is my Telecaster because that's what my mom got for me a long time ago because she wanted me to have something I liked better than the Epiphone I started on, one is my Flying V because I had always wanted one and then finally had enough money to buy one and have it shipped to me in Alaska when I was in the army and the third is my 1956 Gibson ES-225T because it's my favorite guitar and mine was kind of restored by me because it was stripped of everything that wasn't glued on when I bought it and I replaced the missing parts to make it a functional guitar again.
Bet you're glad to be in the studio Shane... And the difference between two very similar guitars is great for choice, lve got two Teles, a Mex Player thats stock and another with the fat neck, CS bridge and a Twisted at the neck (l think!). The Mex is great for that Tele rhythm sound, the other's bitey and snarls with the vol over about 8.. luv it!!
Almost the same story. -) Only with strats. I have two MIM Strats, one of which is 21 years old, the other a little younger. I bought both new and modified them to suit my needs, replacing all the electronics. On one of the older ones there are Seymour Duncan Hor Rodded in the HSH configuration (the STK of the same uncle Seymour is responsible for the single). And on the second there are P90s (Chinese ones for 40 bucks, but they sound just right). And Tele is a bully like guitar, but I also like it in general. So it goes!
POLYGRIP or SEABOND denture adhesive on the knob🤣 will keep it stuck proper. Since it's food grade, there isn't anything acidic to ruin the switch, the chrome, or the guitar finish. I have an old Bakelite pickquard that pops under heat and sweat. A little of this stuff stops the popping. It's also hiw I "fix" my Gretsch and Gibson floating bridges without drilling holes in my $$$$ guitars. ✌️
Great playing and both guitars sounded fantastic. I have LP standard and a custom (custom shop). Feel and sound different. At least that's what I tell my wife.
I had the American Original 50's and is such a great guitar. My only thing that just kept bothering me was the sticky neck. Did yours felt sticky at all or has it faded over time?? Now I have a Vintera 50's modified , that suprisingly feels very similar on the hand to the AO. Is a thick soft V instead of a U, and satin neck and urethane so its not sticky.
That one looks great, I reviewed one a while back. Cool guitar if you like the thin necks. Just be careful, some of them are really heavy and others aren't.
gonna recommend an LSL TBoneOne. Mine is magical...the only thing that comes close is my CustomShop. Sold my Tele Pro 2...lefty....excellent but somewhat uninspiring. Go used...can always find what you want in lefty...if you're patient. Good luck...nothing better than a Tele. Got too many....wanted to try/mod a AIO TC4 (out of CA)....pulled trigger yesterday on a buttercream color..should be fun.....love modd'ing well-made budget Tele's with different pups, etc. Would love to play a Nash or K-Line someday....
Plenty of differences between guitars that look so similar, Shane, (and, of course, one has a whacking great dent it it, or at least it did! Tom Murphy has nothing on you when it comes to relicing :-) Thanks.
Shane, I've alwasy thought you're playing has been great. Over the years you've gotten better and better as well. I love both your Teles a lot. If I had to pick one only, I honestly couldn't. The only negative about this content is that Kemper. I know a lot of you younger guys will say I'm full of shyte, but to me, it sounds so digital and so not real, I just can't understand why a traditional tube amp guy would ever turn to one of these fake and bake modelers. I'm not singling out Kemper, not by a long shot. Every one I've tried and listened to has the exact same result...fake and un-natural tone. It drives me up a wall. I guess you can guess I'm an old guy, I haven't adjusted to modern technology and refuse to. But hey, that's just one opinion.
Hey I'm Myron Joel Fernandes from Goa - India please help me to buy an electric guitar Processor which cost around 60,000 rupees in India. I want it if I want to join a band but I really can't afford to buy it. Please help me to buy it.
I have 3 strats and building a 4th. My 07 MIM I bought when I was 16 and I refuse to change anything on it. I blocked the trem and replaced the tuners with fender locking tuners since the old ones wore out. Thats it. I built another strat because I wanted different pickups but didn't want to change my 07 MIM, aka my #1. The third one, 22 Player Series, my GAS syndrome kicked in when I saw the color. The 4th that I am still building, I wanted a hardtail and paisley colored strat.
The studio is back! Let me know in the comments if you have more than one similar guitar and why! 😀

You can’t beat a good tele ,what great guitars they are.
Always wanted a fender butterscotch tele. I'll get there one day. Need to flip some of my stock.

Fender should definitely give Shane a signature Tele.
Lefty too!!!
Tele me about it.
I've been looking for a tele in that colour, nearly bought a black one today from cashies, but I wanted a bargain and they didn't step up.
The tip fell off of the pickup selector switch on my Telecaster too. I just left it like it is though. It especially doesn't matter to me now since I pulled the neck pickup out of that guitar.

Very cool I'm sure. Teles seem hard to screw up. Nice simple work horses mod or not. Killer teles here. Love the dynamics of both. Great review Shane!
Great playing Shane,! Two thumbs way up
Thanks, John!

I haven't had too much of a problem with it. That said, I use the finger ease stuff every time I film or play live, so it's been okay for me.
@@intheblues Thats great you dont have that issue. And yeah, the AO is such a great guitar and the neck I loved the profile.
What pickups are in the US Original?
@@leejohnson6516 pure vintage 52.
A Tele is all you need, period
Which Joe Barden pick ups are you using? They sound great!!!
The Danny Gatton Pickups. They are now called JBE pickups. Standard neck / Modern Bridge.
Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful day Shane ❤😊
could you please tell us what the neck pickups is? you said the bridge is a joe barden gatton model.
building a partscaster right now actually
Hey Shane, curious that you told me not to upgrade the Mexican player tele _ why not putting sexy pickups ? Btw, love your Channel mate!
I superglued my switch cap. Every time I'd hit it, it fell off. Quite irritating.
Telelicious! \m/
Are those alder bodies?
I have been shopping Tele's for a week now. I think I have settled on the American Ultra in Texas Tea. Now just to find a lefty in stock......
Texas tea looks great!

Just the tip my man. Just the tip

The Jam Track reminds me this song: ua-cam.com/video/PcBgfuB64yA/v-deo.htmlsi=y2W8til7JzCrnZhq
Having two or more guitars that non players assume are the exact same is a wise musician way to be.
