- Aw ship. Hopefully this video helps provide some guidance based on our experience searching for the best carrier. The unfortunate part of this story is there really isn't a secret or hack (that I know of) it's all about finding and implementing the strategy that works for you. WE USE USPS and SHOPIFY'S shipping platform which offers an equally attractive discount off retail shipping rates compared to all the big names in shipping apps.
USPS - Best overall
UPS/FedEx - Best for short delivery windows (based on days they deliver)
DHL - Best (in most cases) for international shipping
Be creative, continue to search for better services/means of shipping. This is the beauty of being an entrepreneur!

Structuring shipping for my first production run, and this video is such a helpful resource! We will be using Shopify for our web platform, so it's good to know that their rates are competitive with all of these third party shipping services. Saved me the trial and error, just going to keep it simple!
I don’t sell coffee yet, but this is what I did on my Etsy shop. I increased the price 50% and made shipping free.

Hey Bonde , I am currently trying to setup my Shopify store ( also as a very small startup coffee roaster : ) I can easily set up say sending 2 bags of coffee through a USPS flat rate envelope but say if someone adds 6 bags of coffee in there...the price calculation during checkout doesn't change but it is obviously going to cost me more. I searched around other small coffee roasting co.s in my area just to see how their shipping calculated and they seemed to have a similar problem. I added 20 bags to one cart and the shipping was still the $8ish flat rate priority fee. As I have yet to launch my web site I would love to solve this ahead of time. I was totally blown. away to see that others who were already up and running didnt seem to have this figured out. I did go to some bigger coffee roaster websites like Intellengensia and it calculated correctly....but for those of us on the Shopify platform it seems to be a challenge. If you could give any advice...that would be wicked awesome !! PS: Ive liked and subscribed a long time ago / thanks for sharing the journey : )

Great content! Appreciate the sharing! You mentioned Shopify in this one, can you do one on your Shopify setup? I used it a bit for some photography sales last year but found it a bit confusing and a little expensive.
Hey Eric, I would happy to share! Shopify can be confusing... It took me a while to get used to but with the ability to integrate all the applications available makes it one the most powerful platforms out there, in my opinion!
