I wouldn't leave Max out during the day either. It's not a night thing. A friend lost two small dogs slipping out through the sliding glass door in full daylight to coyotes in your area in Southern California. The coyote issue is real day or night. So, I would be out there with him whenever he is.
I wondered about that, too. I would fee l so awful if anything happened to him. I love that little guy!

I think the rug is too cool-toned and modern for the brown wall and the coastal fun vibe you’re envisioning for the house. Maybe something with texture? Indoor/outdoor rugs in jute, bouchle, or a handwoven weave pattern might be an interesting touch!

Natural wool rug (Moroccan type from Etsy) with wool "plush" and warm colors like yellow or olive would look great in that room. The current one that is grey and has no plush makes the room feel cold.
I know it may sound boring but a nice warm cream color would look nice (paint) in that bathroom. You can then do so much decorating wise. You could easily change things out as you grow with the house without having to repaint the bathroom. Just my 2cents! I know it’s going to look great whatever you two decide.

Not sure if there was a reason you bought the Farrow & Ball paint, but you can always have a hardware store match a color from other brands to a cheaper paint brand.

Above kitchen open storage can totally be used for the everyday stuff. We display our white goods, cups & bowls. We also keep a few key items out like the French press & so on…
You could get 2-3 storage ottamans and place them against the wall by Max's bowls. Max's food container could fit in 1. They would provide storage and even places for people to sit. They could all be the same, or you could get 3 different depending on the aesthetic you like best. And, you can get them pretty inexpensively too
Hi Michel! 💖 Just fyi, the chances of coyotes getting into your backyard is definitely not slim! They hop fences all the time effortlessly, especially if there is something there that they are interested in, so just please be very aware of that and extremely careful with Max! He should definitely NEVER be left there unattended in the backyard, especially at NIGHT!!! I know plenty of people who have had to learn this the hard way unfortunately and I would hate for anything bad to happen. Please, please, please take my advice seriously! ❤🙏🏼❤

Homegoods will get alot of pretty glasses and serveware for the holidays. Might be a good spot to look for fun glasses if you cant find any at the thrift store

Mixing up new and old decorations is always good to give the new house a different feel than apt. Maybe for dog food storage you will find a spot once you put more things or get a bin to put the bag of food in than find a space in kitchen or storage closet for bin.

For the mint green room and bathroom, I think a deeper navy color would be really nice with lots of white accents, like the glass storage thing you showed would look so nice with a navy walls.

Your rug will work great in that room; additional pieces will fill it in and it keeps a lightness to the room. You may want to consider a simple bench in the space leading upstairs. You could put Max’s food in a basket and slip it under the bench. It would be a nice area for Max’s basket of toys, leash, etc. that you could slip out of the way. Also, a bench in that area could serve as a temporary hold area for things to remember to bring upstairs.

Standing on a chair** just an fyi for all of us who stand on chairs, please put the back of the chair against the wall rather than behind/beside your legs. If you become unbalanced with the back against the wall you can easily step off, rather than having to fall over the top of the chairback if it's behind or beside you 🩷 I thought about this in the last vlog but figured it was a one-off but please stay safe ladies!! 🩷🩷 LOVE that the house is coming together 🥳🥳

For the upstairs “den” (in Canada we would call it “Family Room”), I agree with you that the carpet does have a bluish tone. Might take on a different look once that wall behind is painted. I think if you decide to keep that carpet, you might have to bring in some throw pillows on the couch with similar colourings. Also I would pull your couch back 8 inches, it’s ok if it’s not in line with the end of the wall, and I think it would open up that area nicely.
For the bathroom, I LOVE that style of cabinet that you are looking for…gorgeous!! To blend your style and Jordy’s style, maybe a wallpaper on that wall that has that 70’s surf feel and then your cabinet against that wall.
Whatever you guys decide, it’s fun to put things together and make it your own. Don’t worry, everything always falls into place, enjoy all these moments 🌸
