I'm glad (and not surprised) to see that longer windlass on the new version. When I got my two SOFTT-W tourniquets from you guys last month with your retention clips, I tried with and without the retention clips and noted how the windlass was often not long enough to engage the triangular lock when using the clip. I actually took the retention clip off my tourniquet because of this. Looks like they've sorted this problem with the Gen 4.
Hmm. The choice between the CAT and SOFTT-W becomes even more difficult now that they both have retention clips. Don't know which is easier for one-handed application, but the race has definitely gotten closer. The only difference now is velcro, size, weight and materials. I'm guessing it's harder to "flatpack" the SOFTT-W now that it's gotten a retention clip like that CAT. But I'd still love to see some sort of comparison between the gen 4 SOFTT-W and gen 7 CAT in terms of how compact they can be.

Yeah, I found that commonly too. Unless you had the clip slid close to the windless it can end up being too short. Gen 4 sorts all of it.
Heck yeah! Looks like I can finally switch out my cats
