We currently have around 2500 ties listed and we sell them every single day. 99% of our ties sell for less than $8 plus $3.99 shipping. All of our ties are used. Hi Andrew, I have only one tie left for sale, it's a Boston Traders tie, but I originally purchased it at Goodwill because of the pattern, it's British Tea Canisters (think Downton Abbey)! LOL! I 've only sold ties that are kitschy and theme related. They are fun to sell. I mostly sell women's clothes. Thanks for the informative video! cheers, Pat
Amazing video! Completely agree with everything you said. I have a good understanding of modern menswear, but a lot of ties (and other things) on eBay and also have been selling ties and menswear on eBay for years. Unless the brand is “ultra luxury” + it’s perfect + it is 3.5” or less + it’s a classic color, the brand really doesn’t matter. Solids or very small repeatable patters (polkadot) in classic colors are really all that a man should be wearing... maybe a small stripe, but that’s even pushing the envelope. 3” width or less is all that I wear... anything more is simply too dated. Leave those behind. Unfortunately, that’s what most ties are at the thrift stores-there’s a reason they are there 😆. I can’t remember the last time i purchased a tie at the thrift store. I buy large lots on eBay (mostly, new with tag attached) and then resell individually. I make about $5-10 a tie profit, but they’re very quick to list and easy to store. Oh, and personally, I love wool and cotton/linen blend ties... they have a cool casual look to them. Anyway, got a bit excited to see an eBay video hit my feed (it’s been years since I’ve watched one lol). Again, excellent work!
Was at the outlet bins, a whole bin of ties came out and were completely ignored, I knew to look for silk and took those, now that was where my knowledge ends, but they were so cheap I could afford to learn. This video was very helpful, thank you
Just got into selling ties in my 7th month of reselling, I figure why leave money on the table if your already in the thrift store, might as well go through the ties and check before you leave right!, Plus, not alot of the resellers that I know are in the tie game yet, I never see the ties being looked at like the jeans or button down ya know, Thanks for the video and the knowledge I already know more than everyone I know about ties, Looking forward to #2 video. Would you mind putting together a list of about the top 10 to 15 tie brands if there is that many. like a tie buying cheat sheet. Thanks for the video. I dabble with eBay and usually large size ladies tops. However, I just purchased 4 ties. I think they get overlooked at the thrift stores. One is a Donald J. Trump, one Burberry and two are J. Marlin. What would you write in the headline to draw attention. Should I sell them separately or a lot? Thanks for any help!

It’s cool to see crazy brands at thrifts, like givenchy or other designers but they’re usually so gaudy and ugly haha.
