I work for agriculture recycling farm in the south west, we recycling and take in all your guys feed bags, fert bags, wrap/silage, drums, containers and so on. we also work around and in a working farm, I have seen some gory stuff from animals getting killed in the fields, it's part of it and although its not nice to see, it's something you have to deal with and or minimize it as much as possible. anyways, farmers rock and I get jealous seeing all the young farmers come into our work to drop off their seasons worth of waste, driving big tractors, it's awesome to see and I've always wanted to be a farmer! :D

I'm not a good judge for cereals. My background in farming is different, but for someone like olly who has so many acres, im sure the cost effectiveness alone reaps rewards. That drill is built specifically for his way of use to be fair. Not hating, though, a great sound from ploughing is hard to beat!

The plow, good for turning fields brown, bad for releasing carbon, nitrogen and killing worms and microbes life within the soil. Subsequently reverting soil to dirt. This then erodes by wind and water. Don’t see how yields are improved long term?

I do get mad listening to you rant about ploughing, down here in Cornwall ploughing is still the best way, i live amongst those who plough and those that don't (thats all i will say on that) ploughing is skill, not a slap happy rushed job, otherwise you just aswel go out with a chiseler instead. Maybe try half a field ploughed and half direct drill, then show us if your way is best 🤷🏻‍♂️ patience is a vertu they say, very true word's especially in farming,

I have used a slatted plough, rather than solid mouldboards. Only a 4f reversible. Less power, breaks the soil down better. I have ploughed and straight in to grass seed behind the plough in good conditions. Only ever entered one ploughing match and messed up the finish, as I did not know how to finish. Could have been near the top of the match should I have finished clean. Try to get a possible slatted demo plough, and in your soil, I think you could do well. Thanks for another fantastic video.

"organic" farming should not be confused with "no-till" farming. Tilling historically has been a significant contributor to the destruction of grasslands and many dust bowls the US / North America has endured, causing the destruction of horticulture and other means of food production for the continent. Remembering history and advances ecology is a good thing to pay attention to as opposed to the "fuzzy feelings" of buying something that says organic.

The reason I have to buy organic now (and I hate it) is that in the United States, companies are allowed to spray natamycin on the packaging and the outside of grains and other products (notably cheese and cured meats) unless they are grown organically. I'm allergic to mycins, though most doctors don't want to hear it and the industry denies that is even a thing. I had a terrible reaction to a mycin when I was a very small child (like more than 30 years ago) and my doctor made clear to me as a child that it was very dangerous for me. It is one of the more depressing things in my life. 15% today - really rough.
