The windrower shouldn't destroy the tyres like it has our is about 6-7 years old and has done alot of hectares/kilometers (baling for 300~ cows so you know that's alot) and only on the inside nearly all the tread is gone but that's somewhat common with the claas liner windrowers

Used to work for a contractor when I was younger and raking was my job! Out of a silage fleet I reckon it's the best job!

Going by the feathering on the tyres you have to much toe out , measuring tape and spanner will sort.

I feel for you. Our 936 absolutely nothing but trouble as it got older. Engine wise. Couldn't afford to keep it. Went back to an 8420.

Circa 12:00 - 13:00 the Fendt with the Sumobar definitely sounds like there's a miss on one cylinder. I can't say which with just a computer, but I'm pretty sure you're on the right lines stethoscoping the injectors.

Olly check the tracking on the rake rvw pugh don't check them ours was out when we had it new I put right and it stopped it scrubbing the tyres doesn't tow as nice on the road as the claas we had before.
You need to set the wheel tracking on your rake,drive behind and watch wheel alignment, better than measuring tape as difficult to get accurate with steering axel

7710 is a great tractor used to drive one with a dump trailer on and we broke the exhaust wouldn’t let the fitter weld it as it sounded so good

Gives a better appreciation of the unglamorous side of farming, THANK YOU!!just a thought on the poorly ractor. is the engine a straight six with a common rail for injectors/glow plugs? at the end of the rail is a rubber bung if perished you may not see anything unless engine working under load. get a new bung pull old out push new in and fingers crossed! keep up the Great work

It looks like it’s toeing out on the tracking, measure it front and back between the wheel rims
Like a car Oliver Harrison OllyBlogs it takes little to knock out the tracking & even something as simple as over inflation can cause excess scrub. If the tyre is towing out it will create inner scrub.
Weight is not an issue so also check the bearings .
Your right it should not be doing that and not so new but whether a PDI misdemean or an issue described ot needs sorting as it will still wear in the working field.
As daft as it may seem make sure the camber angles are correct as your under warrantee they should check all the above.

Thinking of your tyre shredding. You appear to have new bolts in the wheel station supports. Are they right size or if not have they allowed the wheel inclination to move. The effect of running such a machine on B roads is that tractor with only tyre suspension which is unique I think on JD can be moving at a different rate and inclination to the support wheels at end of long beam. What gives it the tyres with least resistance. It cannot be otherwise. You are faced with the old Production Engineer problem is the cost of manhours and investigations higher than cost of replacement tyres. I would check bolts as of play between bolts and holes this is quickly and cheaply corrected. The flap on the tread is on the driver’s side i.e. the crown of the road. This suggests that kerb slope meets 5hat wheel at better angle and/or that crown wheel scrubs more by carrying more load. It could also relate to driver input with corrective driving to keep tractor and load straight on road. You suggest it is a more recent problem; dare I say if your older tyres were JD supplied and your new tyres are equivalents the side walls may have slightly different properties. I don’t have any tractor connections- honest! These tyre problems in various forms have given tyre companies all round the world many hours of research on car racing tracks! You are in business and must get best value so you are back to the production engineer problem which I am more familiar with.

You need to make a blank for fuel rail (ie) bend over old injector pipe and run engine with one injector blanked off at a time until the bubbles stop
Big effort on how many days strait you have done you should b proud. Raking gives you chance just to shutdown a little and still be productive
ITS TRACKING OUT, NEEDS TURNIG IN HALF/ONE TURN.

the tyre scrub could be down to the tyres rated to 20kph and your pulling it with a 60kph tractor
Maybe doing a deal on the Valtra in a swap for the fendt???

Get the tracking set on rake that's all , set the toe in to 8/10mm and it will be fine

Merlos are quite possibly the worst telehandlers. Ours has no end of electrical problems, thankfully we're getting shot of it soon, get a proper one from either Kramer or JCB.

@@OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer It must have been a Friday afternoon before a bank holiday weekend (assuming they have bank holidays in Italy) when they installed the wiring loom. Basically a bunch of intermittent electrical issues: Randomly won't start despite a brand new battery/starter/ignition solenoid, boom lockout engages at random and won't release, second gear randomly won't work then does again.
