From right to left: Qala ( Avinta Dutt ) , Ariyippu ( Mahesh Narayan ), Darlings ( Jasmeet K Reen ), Jogi ( Ali Abbas Zafar ), Monica O My Darling ( Vasant Bala ), Masaba Masaba ( Sonam Nair ) and Jamtara ( Soumendra Padhi ).
Vasan Bala for me this year Monica oh my darling was such a good directed movie, Fast paced story Crisp editing Catchy and relevant music Great acting performances Overall Bala made this masterpiece worth watching in 2022.
The sensitivity with which Ali Abbas approached Diljit for that crucial scene in Jogi is just so heartwarming and reassuring that I'm glad HE made this movie without being the usual know-it-all director..
The Talent Warehouse - Mr. Mahesh Narayanan, I am sure many people watching this don't know what this guy is capable of and has delivered in just last few years, exceptional stories one after another.. "C U Soon" was my intro to him an total fan after that.
Vasan Bala's movie nerd-ness comes across in such an endearing way. Listening to Soumendra Padhi's stories from the making of Jamtara felt like an education. Thank you for sharing this conversation!💚
Can we actually have a roundtable of musicians? Maybe a mix of singers lyricists and composers and all because sound and music is such a important part of a film and I would also like to know their process of making music or even bgm.
Vasan Bala for me this year Monica oh my darling was such a good directed movie, Fast paced story Crisp editing Catchy and relevant music Great acting performances Overall Bala made this masterpiece worth watching in 2022.
The movie Mahesh is talking about that was made in 6.5cr budget is Take Off which was based on the true life incident where Kerala nurses were evacuated by the Indian govt from Iraq. The 120 cr movie Ali is referring to is Tiger Zinda hai which is also based on the same incident. Watch the 2 movies and you will realise what sets apart a great director from a good director. Take off is technically and story wise such a brilliant film, miles ahead of Tiger Zinda hai.
I agree completely with u. Mahesh is amazing - not just direction but also editing. Take Off is one of my fave💓 However in Ali's defense, he is a good film maker too. Due to the B'wood "star" & audience maturity TZH probably made sense in Hindi and was a good "Hindi" entertainer
@@overtherainbow12345 I was mainly referring to the point of budget and how Mahesh was able to make a technically brilliant film in 6.5 crores. And in the interview he says that the most difficult part of shooting his latest movie, Ariyippu, was setting up the factory. That just shows the kind of involvement and extent of detailing he goes through as a director. I have not watched Jogi but i have heard good things about the movie. Will definitely watch it.The rest of Ali Zafar's movies I have not enjoyed much tbh. I feel Kabir Khan's movies like Ek tha Tiger and Bajrangi Baijan have so much more masala and real heroism rather than jingoism. And Rohit Shetty movies as well.
This is the best roundtable of 2022..so many take aways.. I'm in the process of making my first short film now and I could really relate some of the things they are saying... 🙏
I am absolutely thrilled by the abundance of talent on display, and can hardly contain my excitement at the thought of all the incredible future projects that these talented individuals will surely bring to life! The potential for greatness is limitless, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for them.
So after breaking his thumb Rohit Sharma was offered 3 vadapavs by rajeev masand so here he is . 3 double centuries , 5 ipl trophies , making sultan tiger Zinda hai damn man is actually master of all trades
How can someone who made Masaba be invited to the roundtable. Netflix needs to improve the quality of the content so that they can have better individuals for next year's roundtable.
I think it's clear that working with Salman is not easy. And a lot of energy must be going down in massaging the ego of such actors and i think that's one of the reasons that their films nowadays are not working because they want to stick to their old formulas and times are changing now when the script is the hero and not the actor.
If it was such a challenge then why would Ali work with Him for 3 films when there are many talented actors as well. I think any director who takes up any actor should be able to tell them no or ask them to improve obviously in a healthy manner. If they take big actors and can't say no it means they are relying on actor's popularity and not their own script.
Unlike last years round table where the folks were very friendly looks like this time, these folks needed an ice breaker.. the air was filled with some seriousness🤨 in the beginning
Before Rajeev partnered with Netflix - roundtable use to be legit with the best filmmakers of the year - after Rajeev partnered with Netflix - roundtable became everything released on the platform 🤦🏻♀️
This is roundtable for Netflix so obviously it's for the platform- it's not a generic RT. Check out Galatta Plus (Baradwaj Rnagan) & film companion rountables
Every time Rajeev question to Ali that answer related Sultan but he came here this year for Jogi but he less talk about that or get less question….Rajeev interest on Salman topic only
It's amazing how Rohit Sharma does both . He is a amazing cricketer and on the other side he gave a few blockbusters to Hindi cinema like sulthan etc.

Go Anvita! I will watch that Terry Pratchett film and I hope you can make it.
The album she’s talking about is already out there, which is Qala! Every song is out of the world.
"Jogi" is such a good movie and it really deserves more recognition...

Yes. I was going to say, that. This is a publicity stunt which they do.
