We’ve been chatting for like no time and barely know each other and yet I think I can be honest with you… This is among my least favorite Beatles songs… and I couldn’t be happier that someone I like is doing a version of it that I’ll be able to enjoy. Something about George’s playing always made this one seem borderline patronizing to Ringo 😂 Edit: I’m stealing “brings you up an octave at least” I’ll give you credit 😊
“….borderline patronizing to Ringo” Nick…🤣 Oh my goodness, I know exactly what you are saying. I will say this, each of the Beatles brought something truly unique and special and each of them strikes a different chord within my soul. For me, Ringo, is that playful child that didn’t have to grow up (esp too fast). Such a silly charmer, he is… I’m so glad you were able to enjoy it regardless of your feelings around it in general. It was fairly impromptu, but that’s how it is with me mostly anyway, so little time on my hands. And I dare not say that out loud, every time I wish I had more time, disaster strikes in all the wrong ways 😅 Seriously, you have to be more specific when you ask for something I have found…..God/the universe (whatever your line of thinking may be) has a special brand of humor!! Thanks for stopping by! Cheers ❤️🎶✨ And please, always be honest, anything less isn’t worth the air we breathe!
@@jotaylor4551 poor Ringo is so undervalued. People forget that before he joined the band he was already successful and had to be recruited by Epstein. Not to mention the fact that he’s one of the greatest and most revered drummers in rock history. So many iconic grooves… I mean Ticket to Ride went from great to sublime bc of him. The man’s a human clock! Now, his singing? That’s a horse of a different color 😂 my dad told me that they had to really coax him into that final note in With a Little Help From My Friends and it took him LOTS of tries. Who knows if that’s true or apocryphal but I believed it ha. Wise to not wish for more time - and to cage the belief! Ha I don’t know if it comes through in my music but I’m a bit of a skeptic. The universe IS amazing though. Awe-inspiring and very humbling. We would do well to be very pleased that we have any time at all (as if I don’t gripe about there not being enough lol). I appreciate your encouragement of honesty… it’s my policy as well. My five year old seems to appreciate that I don’t BS her at least lol
@NickBollingerMusic I loved every bit of this that you wrote. I wish I had more to say back, but I am dog ass tired to the core and must retire my heavy head. Ponder this…I rather adore Ringo’s voice all the more for it’s imperfections! Children need and respect our honesty. I have never spoken to my children with any less than I would express to a peer or elder. Their minds far surpass our understanding anyway, having not been swayed by the torments of societal norms and expectations. ✨🎶
@@jotaylor4551 that’s a really good point about Ringo’s voice. Yellow Submarine and Act Naturally would have still been great with any of the other 3 singing but Ringo brought something special to them. Dylan is another good example of that type of voice. If you can’t tell, I’m a bit of a Beatles fanatic lol my dad got me started young 😝 I totally agree about talking to the kiddos. That’s the was my dad was with me too and I really appreciated it. Felt like it gave me a broad perspective on the world very early on (mostly for better but sometimes for worse - the world can be kinda messed up lol). Hope you got some rest!
You did it. You fixed it. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Your laughed slayed me ❤️
Beautiful performance and beautiful reason for doing it.
Fabulous singing ✨✨✨
Thank you so much ❤️🎶✨

You guys are both amazing people and musicians. I wish we could all hang out and talk in person.
