Chillon Castle and its military history

As both a princely residence and a fortress, throughout its history, Chillon Castle has been equipped with a comprehensive defence system. Complete with watchtowers, sentry walks, double ramparts, hoardings, machicolations, moat and turrets... no expense was spared when it came to warding off an enemy attack.
