Maggies is about the only thing in Pooisham that's not been messed up by the council, it's an institution, the lady herself was lovely and full of Irish charm and is missed by all that came into contact with her and her boys carry it on really well, it's a great Café I've been going there for 30 years plus

@gewglesux those apartments are one of the things, they are selling of land to developers to build those buildings on and they are unaffordable to normal people and they are going up everywhere, a lot of our roads around the area have been closed by the council in the name of reducing polution but are really just income grabbers because of the fines if you fall for going into them. As an example one road cost drivers 3 million pounds in 3 months polution of course hasn't changed. Edit the other thing is lack of parking, that's been used as a cash generator too.

I know the cafe well. The Irish lady who's name is above the door died a few years ago and her husband Mazid passed only last year. They made the place an institution in Lewisham and I think it's their sons that runs it now.

There’s a Tesco car park 2 minutes walk away from Maggie’s - it’s free upto 3 hours for customers (could have gone in and bought you and cameraman some water) and got free parking.

Most people will order; bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, beans, black pudding and toast. They don’t go all in like that, and when customers do, they won’t like it hence the workers sarcastic heart attack comment.

There’s a Tesco car park 2 minutes walk away from Maggie’s - it’s free upto 3 hours for customers (could have gone in and bought you and cameraman some water) and got free parking.
