L’Agnus Dei è il pezzo più bello, l’ultimo, e definitivo, di quel grande capolavoro che è la Petite messe solennelle. Pezzo sublime. Con esso il Contralto dice l’ultima parola. Brigitte Fassbaender, pur Mezzosoprano, è luminosa e bravissima.
Fassbender is a force to be reckoned with!!!! She is the ultimate. Free flowing gorgeous rich tone, pathos, musicality, flawless in every area of her voice from chest to head and in between. Sheer Brilliance!! I have long loved her since my college days wearing out her recording of Frauenliebe und -leben!!!
I ordered Frauenliebe as one of 6 of a larger order and all the other 5 arrived within 6 weeks. Bugger!
