As a Viennese, i would say Otto Wagner's and Klimt's work are really what gives the city so much of its Soul.
Thank you for this! Actually I came back from Vienna a couple of days ago. Gorgeous city, magnificent and stunning. I am still under the impression of Leopold's museum. Every person should see that place at least once ^^
Glad to hear you enjoyed Vienna!
I didn't know much about Klimt or the Vienna Succession. Thank you!
Welcome! Glad you watched this video 🙏🏻
The Vienna Secessionists were an offshoot of the Glasgow School. See the work of Margaret McDonald and Charles Rennie Macintosh (who actually features on your mosaic of Secessionists at the beginning of the video).
Thanks 🙏🏻, will check it out
Thanks you for this. Your content is pithy and informative and really helpful. As a teacher I really appreciate your efforts.
So nice to hear it 😍, thank you! 🙏🏻
Sure, I've seen Klimt's < The Kiss > more than I can count , just like many others have, but I didn't know that there is the temple-like Secession building in Vienna and that it houses Klimt's Beethoven frieze which shows an embracing naked pair which the couple in Klimt's < The Kiss> resembles . Interesting! Yes, Beethoven is absolutely a composer to whom an exhibition is worth being devoted. I've listened to his piano sonatas, cello sonatas, works for violin and symphonies for so many years and never been bored. Thank you very much for lots of fresh information. 🤩😊
Thank you for watching out stories! ☺️💪🏻
Excellent information. Thank you!!
😍🙏🏻
I actually really love a different person from the Secession, Koloman Mosor. I know Klimt is the most famous of the lot, and make no mistake his art is amazing. But I just love the patterns of Mosor's work so much as well as his heavy emphasis on line work in a lot of his stuff.
Having visited Barcelona last week, experiencing Modernism, the Vienna Secession was clearly also modernist.
😊🙏🏻
Thanks! I missed class when my prof was going over this topic but that video got me caught up!
You are welcome! 🤗
Some time ago, I bought a very large, beautiful blue, Minton secessionist planter. It was on the BBC program Flog It. I have often wondered why it is described as secessionist
Gran escuela.
Very Nice..
Thanks.
Most welcome!
I visited the Golden Cabbage. It was delicious.
I love your video - very interesting 🎵💜🎶
😍🙏🏻
Amazing most of this predates 1910 and klimt before 1919.
Thanks!
Could you do a video about Vienna Actionism too? :)
Thanks for the suggestion 👍🏻
Very informative video
Thank you for watching it!
5:17 and 7:51 the staircase in this picture is actually designed by Victor Horta for a house in Bruxelles, Belgium. It is not placed in Vienna.
Thank you 👍🏻
