Post your: COUNTRY, SALARY in US$, JOB
This video is helping my geography 😅
I was hoping that there would be additional benefits! 😄
In Palestine we get 70 percent of the $850 and many teachers quit teaching because of it. War and the corruption of the government lead to this, but mostly the government.
I'm sorry to hear that, Samish. 😢
اللهم نصرا عاجلا.....اللهم نصر عزيز مقتدر
😢
Be strong 💙💙
Thailand, foreign teacher (non-native speaker), $1000, kindergarten. My colleagues in primary school have the same salary. Local teachers have about $700.
Thank you for sharing!
I'll fix it in the future.
Australia, ESL teacher at a public vocational college $6525.45
Thank you for sharing!
Hi there! In Portugal most of the theachers don't reach 1500 monthly. The 2500 you mention is for those teachers who have been working for over 30/35 years.
I see. I was afraid of the information being incorrect. Thank you so much for helping!
@@etacude But still excellent video! Thanks for helping us teachers with all your videos! 💫
Russia-depends on the city and teacher qualification (as you’ve mentioned in the video) like it’s average 500 in the province. But the lowest category teacher that just have graduated from the university starts from 1000 in Moscow. If you’re respectful teacher in the high rated Moscow school you can have 10k per month.
Wow! Such a big difference! Thank you for sharing!
@@etacude yes, many factors involved, not only teaching category, experience and obvious things, but also the results that your students show. We have Olympiads for students in every school subject, if your student goes to the country level, teacher gets extra payments and many other things.
@@Margarita_Jokerovna
Hi Margarita,
Is there much active hiring of teachers, especially English teachers, in places like Moscow these days?
Cheers from Korea,
Eric
@@daegueric yes, but you must have Russian citizenship to work in Russia + sanitary documents that proves your physically and mentally stable to work with people + clear criminal records + university master (sometimes bachelors) degree in teaching of your subjects to work in high / secondary schools or college degrees in teaching to work in primary/kindergarten (your university/college must be acknowledged by Russian authorities). And of course you must know Russian language
I am retired teacher in Brazil and I am still teaching to complete my salary and pay my bills
I'm a teacher in an Austrian middle school / secondary school (state school). I have around € 2700 a month after tax (around € 4100 before tax) for 22 teaching hours a week. Teachers get around 14 weeks of paid holidays a year. So I'm definitely not complaining! I used to work as an ESL teacher in Austria and Malta: paid by the hour, ranging from €12 to € 35. It was far harder getting by on that!
That is great news! Thank you for your input! 🙏
Hello, nice video. Right now teachers in the Dominican Republic are earning 854 dollars as base salary. Greetings from DR.
Thank you for sharing!
I taught English in South Korea at an academy and my salary was $1800, and that's on the high end. Teachers at public schools usually make a bit less. Only private schools will pay close to $2500, given you have a few years experience and can teach a few different subjects :)
I make good money teaching here in Mexico. Thanks for posting this video
I'm happy to hear that, Asan! 😊
Iran: $150 (first year teachers) up to $300 (teachers with 30 years of experience). The data on the internet is wrong or maybe outdated.
Thank you for sharing! I'll fix it in the future!
For 40 hours a month teaching English, the school pays $140. I'm English, the rest are not but we all accept the same hourly rate. This is in Laos. The students pay around $10 a month. Other schools and students pay a lot less, some a lot more.
That's a lot of hours during the week. Thank you for your hard work!
Only $140? It's a crime!
I am a high school teacher from Algeria and my salary is 388 dollars a month
Thank you for sharing!
@anfoulaben thanks for sharing 🙏 Is it a public or a private school? And in which state please?
@@asmarihane3978 it's a public school in Blida... P.s This is my 6th year in teaching
WHAT it’s 4000$ (USD) over here
@@janab.7037 Yep.. Unfortunately teachers are very underpaid in my country
A teacher who has been teaching for 20 years in Greece in the public sector gets 1100-1200 euros per month (1283 $). A new teacher without any experience gets 850 euros. The salary is the same for kindergarten, primary or secondary teachers. The 1900$ mentioned in the video is not correct. This salary may seem enough but it is not because the cost of living in Greece is very high so teachers can hardly cope.
Thank you for sharing! We looked at different sites, but it's often inaccurate. I'm so grateful to get the right information from real teachers! :)
In Egypt salaries increase according to period of time for each teacher worked, for me I worked for about 19 years my salary is 6500 EP .older teachers take more while younger take less .
I'm an English teacher in India and the Base Salary is 260$....
Thank you so much for sharing! 🙏
Hello as a starting teacher in Czechia with 0 years experience I get around 1200$ of money that comes after paying the tax and insurance
Thank you for sharing! I really appreciate it!
Is it annual or monthly?
@@sadafaslam4241 Annual? If that was so we'd starve to death here haha
Algeria 134$ primary school english teacher, two years of experience and it's the most difficult level I think with 45 learners x 10 groups
Thank you for sharing! 🙏
DOMINICAN Rep 1100 Dollars Monthly Not 260
Saudi Arabia. 3650 US. English Teacher at a university. 20 hours a week.
Saudi Arabia. 5866 US. English Teacher for a military contract. My last gig for three years before the university one. You worked 30 plus hours a week.
Hi Murray! Thank you for sharing!
Ok. USA HERE... close to Chicago...
Depending on years of experience, education and level of school- your probable average earnings are 60k-70k annually
Someone with a grad degree and 20+ of experience defin be around 100k.
Thank you so much for sharing, Marty! 🙏
No prob
Ican share salaries schedules if people are super interested... just post your email.

I'm a High School teacher in Italy and I earn about 1400 dollars per month.
isn't much, very little...but I still love the job and can't imagine giving it up.
Thank you, Sayma! You are a precious person! 🥰
@@etacude The salary you mentioned thats only for the teachers who are experienced over 10-5 years, or more depending on schools you are teaching. in Bangladesh Usually new beginning teachers receive only 100 USD
I am an EFL teacher in Finland. My salary is about 3500 USD (before tax). We get a raise after 5 years, 8 years, 10 years, 15 years and 20 years (sometimes additional raises are given based on nationwide decisions). I teach minimum of 20 classes per week. In my salary I already have the 5-year raise and will achieve the 8-year raise in August. I also have extra hours so I get paid overtime, and I work as a tutoring teacher for the student council so I get a compensation for that as well.
Thank you so much for sharing, Verikivi! I really appreciate this information and will use it with future updates!
In Guatemala the normal salary for an elementary teacher is around 400 - 450 dollars, high school teachers earn around 500 dolars. I am an english teacher and work in a private english academy so I earn more than that but teachers salaries on a school and private schools overall here are very low, literally minimum wage :'( .
Btw Guatemala is located below mexico :) Also, the salaries I mention are for all teacher regardless of the area and they are the gross pay, after taxes is less, taxes are not that high though.
Thank you so much for sharing! 🙏
Not entirely clear if this is about TEFL salaries from language schools or school teaching?
School teaching - national averages - some countries this is relatively easy to determine, in others very hard.
Where did you get these numbers from? UK teacher salaries start around $3000/month. The teacher pay scale is published on the government website.
Before tax - after tax and other deductions you'd be lucky to get $2000/month. In my first teaching job, 70% of my salary went just on my rent.
Thank you for sharing, Katie. It must've been really hard starting out. We used various websites to try and gauge the average for all teachers, but the process needs refinement. In the future we'll use the info from teachers and do better research. :)
South Korea (i see most job postings offering anything between 1.900.000 won all the way up to 3.400.000 (for native English teachers (full time) not sure about actual Korean teachers. With the won losing so much value this past years: 2,650,000 South Korean Won (KRW) to US Dollars (USD), using the recent exchange rate of 1 KRW = approximately 0.000726 USD, you would get around $1,924.90 USD
That being said I have a 5.5h job (not full time) as a freelance kindergarden English instructor and my salary is approximately 2,177.71 US Dollars
For Morocco, it's only 600$ instead of 1600$
(Primary, middle and high school teachers alike)
Thank you! I'll update it in the future. 🙏
Vietnam $300 per month
Thank you for sharing, Jharna!
This is a complete bs
In France I’df didn’t pass “concours “
You make 1700 and not 3400😉
Most teachers have miserable life here
Been teaching for 5 years at the private high school, not even close to the salary that you’ve announced
Thank you for your comment. We'll try to fix it in the future.
Japan, 2000$ BRUTO, Coordinator for International Relations
what do your numbers refer to nett or gross?
Gross income. Sorry, I should've mentioned it at the start.
Isn’t it easier to put description rather than 8min video? 😊
Haha definitely, but I've always wanted to make this video
UK 4500 dollars a month. Not a chance
I know that rates in London differ much from those in other cities. As said, in some countries it is very hard to get an average.
Cambodia points to the Mediterranean.☺️
Ah! I knew I would miss one somewhere 😅. The starting point was always the Mediterranean... Guess I missed Cambodia. Thank you for telling me!
