You two were great. Tax videos are usually boring, but you made it entertaining.

Thank you for this video. I'm considering working as a virtual assistant and the taxes was my first question. So glad you did this.

As a virtual assistant do you usually only fill out a 10-99 for taxes? Or is setting up an LLC necessary? I have a full time job but would like to do virtual assistant work on the side.

I just finished watching your video. Thank you for the information. Quick question: What if my personal phone has free service, and I get a new paid service just for the business. Will that be considered 100% claim on the phone?

I'm very intrigued with being a virtual assistant but I don't know what skills I could offer while working at home. I've also seen your videos on you tube and feel optimistic about being a VA. I've seen a lot of "work from home" business ideas but I don't know if any are actually legit or scams. I'm very nervous about doing something new or paying for anything upfront to start a new work from home business. What can you tell me as far as the duties a virtual assistant can do, basic to specialized things? How can I tell if an online job is real or a scam?

Also, Abbey, do you recommend to do your own taxes, hire it out to another VA, or a business that specializes in taxes?

What about sales tax? Do you charge for that and why/why not?

If I start a Virtual Assistant business (in California) and then work with someone in another state, will there be any tax issues for them or for me? Is it all the same no matter which state we live/work? I've been having trouble finding the answer online. Thanks for the great video!

You will file your taxes in your state accordingly as will your client. You will not be charging them tax you will work that into your rates. Does that make sense?

If I'm working out of my home, am I able to deduct a portion of my rent/utilities from taxes?
What about if I were a digital nomad and lived in a camper trailer. Could I deduct a portion of my camper/towing vehicle/etc payments?
