    Love these battle reports, absolutely the best on UA-cam. Something is wrong with the sound at 14:29 until 15:00 - everything goes silent.

    The best Old World battle reports on UA-cam.
    If you didn't make your Ambush rolls, the Gyrocopters could have destroyed your Priest and you would have been in trouble
    Great game

    Two awesome armies! Very cool battle. Those gyros seems like such a nuisance haha! Good to see that big chariot blob do some serious damage, such a cool unit

    As always, a great battle report. It shows perfectly why Dwarfs need to be played differently than in previous editions, shooting doesn't kill enough

      Shooting can do a bit of work. The dwarf shooting units can fight too , the rangers with great weapons have caused me a lot of trouble in the past.

    def vanguard before first roll he would not have chosen to be so aggressive with copters if he didnt know had first turn

    Great battle report as always!
    Didn't know you had a tomb king army as well!
    I've played some games via proxing vamp count models and while they are very strong they are sooooo tiresome to play
    Like you start your turn with 4 leadership rolls, then bound spell roll cause casket OP, then one gozillion spell rolls (since 2 high priests is a must in my opinion)
    Their gameplay really fucks up game flow, at least if you want to bring a tryhard list
    About gyros, thats what i was saying to every dwarf player since the very beginning, gyros are fuckin broken, don't use them as chaf for godsake
    I think by now its super rare to see a dwarf army without at least 3 of them and finally in units of 2 or 3
    Btw, what about the tournament with the orc boyz???? You better have battle reports!!!!

      Yeah more reports coming , 2 game friendly tourney report coming with the Orcs , then I'm off to a 2 day 5 game touney next weekend , so hopefully I get some good games in there,taking orcs again. Then I'll be taking Tomb Kings or Elves to a 1500 one dayer the next weekend , too many events not enough time for editing.

    That was a lot of ranged units for the dwarves. Has that sort of strategy worked for him in the past? I would think another unit of hand to hand units is needed to combat exactly what happened in this situation.
    I know the rangers can handle themselves fairly well against large units, due to the great weapons, but they don't have the armor to hold well. Although, granted, in what happened here, I don't think anything could have handled that four unit charge well!

      Yeah , he was just trying some more shooting.
      I really think a couple of units of 3 Gyrocopters would be very good , and I’d like to see how Miners might do.

    I do wonder why the king just sits behind the guns, surely you want him going forward to force an engagement

    Hey! A friend takes his priest on a skeleton horse and make them join the fast cav, so your priest gain reserve move, that is pretty handy for spell casting, and is well protected from shooting, that is way better than the tomb guard.

      The Liche Priest on a skeleton steed is heavy cavalry. The horse archers are light cavalry so he can’t join them if they are in skirmish formation ?
      Does he deploy them in open order ?
      I’ll have to check if it’s legal?

      I think if you put a character that doesn't have reserve move as a trait then the unit loses it. Every model in the unit needs to have it for reserve move to work

      @@blakeandersonJMU @CreakyGamers reviewing the rules, 1) CreakyGamers is right, the character can't join skirmishers with different troop type, but I'm not sure if the character can if those are deployed in open formation instead of skirmishers.
      2) As stated in page 177 FAQs
      Page 177 - Reserve Move
      Change the first sentence of the rule to:
      ‘Unless it charged, marched or fled during the Movement phase, a unit in which the majority of the models have this special rule may make a Reserve move at the end of the Shooting phase of its turn, after all shooting has been resolved.
      This mean that the unit doesn't loose the rule, but bein in open formation instead of skirmishers make it less good.

      I knew there was a reason the mounted liche priest couldn’t join the horse archers in skirmish formation , but it might be worth trying the horse archers in open order so he can join.
      Now to find a mounted liche priest model.

    Ambushers can't come on within 8" of enemy units. Can't see to well in the vid, but it looks like those Scorpions were awefully close to the dwarfs.

      They are placed outside 8” , then they can move ?
