    Best April fool's joke I've seen today. One hour of burning garden rubbish.

    I can't help thinking that there might have been hedgehogs hibernating in that pile.

    • @Rolingmetal
      @Rolingmetal  3 роки тому +1

      I don't think so as I started the pile in February. Now that you mention hedgehogs, I have no seen one in years :( About a decade ago the was a litter of young ones running around the house :)

      Must be a good place but probably just as windy as in this country. Today is particularly bad :(

    Quite different lighting fires here in Australia.
    One match, one piece of paper is usually overkill.
    I have burn piles here i’m not game to light say 20m x 40m. They are habitats now. There is a balance going on with the rabbits and snakes.
    I’ve set fire to old stumps before that burn the roots way down below ground level for about a week.
    It’s interesting to see things go in other parts of the world. Thanks for sharing. I don’t care there was no metal. ;)
    I do have lit a pile like yours I build and light every couple of years. When I light it, it 90% burns in about 20 mins and it’s intense. Maybe I’ll film it next time I light it ;)

      I cleaned that ditch about 6 weeks ago, so the wood is still mostly green. We hardly get any wild fires over here :) Make your own burning video, they are more fun then amateur machining, and you'll can enjoy then when you're sitting in some sort of retirement home :)

    Thanks for posting an interesting video. Loved you black fluffy chicken too. Could not understand what you said about the piles of earth in your garden, are they made by what we call in England MOLES ? Looks like your neighbours are farmers, I could see a tractor in the distance. Do you farm or have you a day job ? Thanks from Australia.

    • @Rolingmetal
      @Rolingmetal  3 роки тому

      I believe I called it a mud volcano :) Not a whole lot of real farmers left around here. The world doesn't want any more farmers, at least no t in the Netherlands.

    Here in Sweden we have the tradition Valborg the last of april. Then we light upp huge bon fires wish normally is not allowed. This is a old tradition, had it before Sweden got Christian. But i dont know if it has anything about our old real viking goods? At least, it is a bit of our history we should be proud of that it still exist and the fact that has nothing to do with Christianity.
    I find the old thinking were better. We had many goods and that was OK. Have a nice easter...

    • @Rolingmetal
      @Rolingmetal  3 роки тому +1

      It probably is, aren't most Christian holiday based on some pagan religion. What ever sells and wins you the most votes. It's just like today's likes and thumbs up culture :)
      Anyway enjoy the fire and festivities :)
