Spintronics memories devices, how are information stored?

We provide a brief introduction to the topic of spintronics memories devices, which allows information to be stored in magnetization. We shall explained what is magnetoresistance in magnetic multilayers and how it allows for the storage of information bit in our everyday hard disk drives and MRAM. We shall also trace the discovery of magnetoresistance, and their evolution leading to giant magnetoresistance, such as the magnetic tunnel junctions based on amorphous aluminum oxides and crystalline magnesium oxide.
