Day Trip to Isle of Bute
Ever wondered if Mount Stuart is worth a visit? Is there much to see? If you do visit, allow a few hours to enjoy it all. Fantastic architecture, steeped in history, beautiful grounds, wonderful scenery, oh and the homemade scones are delicious too. I boarded the ferry from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay and cycled around the island. I spent sometime at Mount Stuart and could have stayed longer. This video gives you a snapshot of what there is to see there. I have included a few views of some of the Bays around the island, each worth a separate visit.
Getting to the Isle of Bute is by ferry, either Wemyss Bay to Rothesay or Colintraive to Rhudodach. Most people will arrive at Rothesay on the ferry from Wemyss Bay. The crossing is easy and the views on the River Clyde and shoreline are spectacular. Mount Stuart is one of the main attractions on the island, but there are also plenty of other places of interest well worthy of a visit as well. You will be spoilt for choice.
