I'm just starting at 64 years old. This was my father's favorite tune. We went to a lot of contests around Texas when Uncles competed. When CD players came out in cars, I took my dad to an appt. At Brooke Army Medical Center, 45 minutes away. We listened to this all the way up and back. "Better play that one again" for an hour and a half. I'd do it again tomorrow if I could.
+creeator Hey there. Maybe one...maybe 15. I can't remember. These basic tunes are sometimes the most difficult to capture. It's like the brain takes a break when faced with too many lick choices. There have been several that definitely took more than 10 takes. I should post the outtakes...minus the cussing, of course...

I first heard Doc Watson play this tune in 1961 when I was 13 years old. Nearly 60 years later, I still thrill each time I hear it!
Totally awesome, thanks so much
Great job btw
Wow! you are good.
Thanks! Felt kinda rough when recording it, but glad you liked it. Keep fiddling!
Damn that boy can play :D
How many takes did you take ? , I know recording kinda makes you lose focus on playing , for me anyway
