We Ghanaians called this Abenkwan (palm nut soup and not stew)
But it's the same formula used in cooking and you've done well
Most people in the southern part of Nigeria also use it as soup, I’ll try it one day🙂…. Thanks for watching ❤️
@@emjayscorner1 sure do and you will love it very trust me..u can eat it with anything including gari
Yes we call it Ab3nkwan ( palm nut soup) u can eat it with fufu or rice ball u will enjoy it
Looks delicious 😋

It looks delicious, weldone sis, pls stay connected
Thank you ❤️
Poundo wil make sense
Yummy yummy 😋😋 but can I also use pure sent leaf for the banga soup
I don’t understand what you mean by pure scent leaf, just buy fresh one from the market… Thanks for watching ❤️
The Ashanti's or Akan tribes pair it with fufu(cassava and plantain pounded together)
Oh really, what country are they from?
@@emjayscorner1 Ghana
are you from Nnewi??? 😀😘😘 looks perfect and delicious, welldone
No I’m not 😁… Thanks for watching ❤️🤗
Looks nice, but its going to take a lot from me to make.
Can't even process the palm fruit 😁
Lol you can do it, it’s worth the stress
This is exactly how I cook my Ofeakwu 😋, you can check it out too.
Please which part of Anambra are you from dear?
I’m from Enugu 😊…. Thanks for watching ❤️
@@emjayscorner1 okay
You're welcome
What language that okpehe?
Are you from cross river state?
Thank love the soup, It's yummy i'll try it.Bravo❤
It’s Igbo language
No I’m not 🙂
Thanks for watching ❤️
Sorry ma please one last question can I also add banga stick or just the palm kernels only?
Sorry I don’t understand what you mean by banga stick… just follow the same process in the video
Pls ma how do I make my own very thick… because I prepared it an it wasn’t thick it was too watering an I don’t like it that way… pls tell , what do I do
It’s the palm kernel… I’ve had that experience countless number of times, I didn’t know until I started buying from a different trader.
There are different species of it,just tell the seller what you want to use it for…. Thanks for watching ❤️❤️
My name is Rose from cross river State
Hy Rose, welcome to my channel
I need name of it please
I have a question after putting the extract into the pot for it to boil do you cover up or leave the pot opened?
Please leave it open, so that it doesn’t boil over… thanks for watching ❤️
@@emjayscorner1 thank you so much
Just like that, without seasoning the icefish
What is the essence of seasoning the ice fish separately
You remove the foamy part of stew because of Cancer. You did well. Thank you
Really? Thanks for watching and responding ❤️
No be only cancer.
Please what is ukpa, how is called in English. Am in akwa ibom
Is it okpeyi? Because that’s what I used for this soup… traders in the market knows it by that name
Can I use uziza leaf? 😢
I don’t know, I’ve never used it
Please how much can I use to cook this 🙏🙏
Food stuff is more expensive now compared to when I made this, so I can’t really say…. Thanks for watching ❤️❤️
At what point did you add African nutmeg
When I added the pepper
Please what is african nutmeg
It’s called “ehuru” in igbo language most traders in the market knows it by that name
Well ldone, but adding fresh fish now is out of the show. Don't show it on social media.. You can add it privately. if you want it.
No dear, I’ll add it publicly on social media because there’s nothing wrong with fresh fish… Thanks for watching ❤️
The foam cause cholesterol
Can you store your extract in the freezer to use later?
Yes. U can
@@PaulineEzeanah thank you
Definitely
But things u use are dey not too much? What if someone that don't have all of this can still make it ??
Make yours with the ingredients you have 🙂
Is this the soup or stew
It can be both, it depends on the person eating it
Is the fish not supposed to be steamed
@@margretsimeon7870 It takes just about ten minutes to cook a mackerel fish, there’s no point steaming and then cooking it again in the stew… Try cooking it the same way i did, you’ll be glad 🙂
you didn't add mackerel fish
I did, watch till the end🙂…. Thank you ❤️
I can't use fresh fish
Okay
What is ogu in English?
Fluted Pumpkin leaves
Pumpkin leaf
Can one add red oil again?
No not at all
It’s already too oily, there’ll be no need for that
Plastic contact with hot food or too long cold food creats health hazard
You should have added onion 🧅 garlic 🧄 and ginger 🫚 to garnish the meat 🍖 anyway maybe a lot of Nigerians 🇳🇬don’t like these local spices. But in motherland Ghana 🇬🇭 95% loves to garnishing their meat or beef with this local spices ooo to make it flavor 🤣🤣🤣. Anyway your palm nut soup looks delicious and yummy .
😊thanks for watching
@@emjayscorner1you welcome
Pot too small
Nigerians don't use tomatoes in soups I wonder why!! Ghanaians use tomatoes in every soup of stew
I don’t know how true that is… every country has their culture which is unique to them, we don’t have to understand it we just need to respect it… Thanks for watching ❤️
Stockfish is not needed in ofeakwu that stew is meant to be natural ok
What is so unnatural about stockfish? Maybe you should try adding it when next you cook ofe akwu🙂
Stockfish na artificial teacher no all....abi na u make d stockfish na dats y it's not natural
@@reginanwegbe6906 cooking is about being creative so if she decides to put stockfish, that’s what she wants.
Cooking is a creative art. She can add stock fish and whatever she deems fit. Try different things when cooking.
We put stock fish in our own
It is soup you prepared not stew.
Okay Ma❤️
Am surprised you are using ugu leaf. Its a stew not soup
It doesn't matter...
Scent leaf is majorly used and she equally used that...
Always be open to trying new things, especially when you have nothing to lose❤️🤗
@emjayscorner1 yes am trying it with ugu my next ofe akwu
This is not banga it's ofe akwu
Okay ma❤️
Why are you chefs in Nigeria always using goats meat, no cow meat. Or lamb.
I used both goat and cow meat, lamb meat is not common in Nigerian markets… Thanks for watching ❤️
