INTERESTING FIND while Cutting the WORST BACKYARD on YouTube!

  • This is easily the worst backyard we have come across. If you saw the last video we did of the home with the man who had alzheimer's this is actually the back of that same home. It is extremely overgrown, there are trees all over the place that need to be cut and in the center is these two cool swing sets! It's gonna be a lot of fun cleaning those up and removing the vines that have grown around them. Now I usually have the help of my 3 boys to do these jobs but today its just me and my 8 year old Judah! But we are excited for the challenge, we even UNCOVERED a strange walkway in the back and we need your help figuring out what it might be used for. Stay tuned, hope you enjoy it and we will see you on the other side!

This dear old man who now has Alzheimer's obviously had a lovely family home at one point with a lovely play area for his children & grandchildren. Makes me wonder why they hadn't stepped up to keep up "dad's" home for him? But thankfully you & your boys stepped up. I wish you all the best. You certainly are teaching your sons community values and this is so important. God Bless!

Great job! Way to go Judah for finishing! I prefer not too much of shrubbery and trees in my yard. Vegetation is super destructive on houses and it’s easy to get out of control. I’m 67 and really enjoy taking care of the yard but I try to be mindful of what I will be able to do in 5 or 10 years. . I do the mowing, weed whacking, blowing myself. Spent two hours earlier today getting up leaves. I thoroughly enjoy your channel and hats off to you and your wife for teaching your boys values that count! ❤❤

As for dad’s question about what to get rid of in an overgrown yard, I’d say on houses that are abandoned and haven’t been cared for for a long time, the more you can clear out, the better .

It looked like Judah was frustrated that he couldn't handle some of the trees/brush. He should remember (or have it mentioned to him) that he's doing more than he did last year, and next year he'll be able to do more than he is doing this year. Eventually he will be able to do 'Dad' sized jobs. Even his brothers once were at his current level, and see how far they've gotten now. "Keep on truckin' " and you'll succeed, Judah.

It has definitely been a while since this home and property have had any attention. I am sure there are some great memories from past generations. Hopefully, there are grand kids that will come back and see what a wonderful transformation ya'll have done. I believe that platform was just used as a deck for a table and chairs. You earned something special Judah for all the hard work!

Judah...you worked so well! The job was watched with knowing how hard this work is. Maybe the platform in yard was a stage for children to perform plays or dance since the backyard is full of swing sets. And I was anxious when I thought your Dad was going to fall through back deck...but I was not surprised when he decided correctly to not! Great job. Prayers for brothers too! Get some rest.

I, personally, think a back yard looks great with a few big trees but not that many young trees and so close together! You guys did an excellent job in cleaning up this gentleman's yard! I think maybe the boards in the back yard was a small deck where adults could sit and relax while watching the children swing and play. The shrubs look as though they may have blocked the view from the back deck. Judah did a fantastic job hanging in there with Dad even after he was tired from hauling alot of tree branches and using that heavy weed eater! You both deserve a special surprise after that transformation! Hope the other boys are feeling better real soon! God Bless you all!

As I age I really take into account how much upkeep is required to keep things tidy. The boards in the back are a real head scratcher. Since they are back there and near the play area I thought they may have been placed there for a picnic table or some type of play space. I see a little impish personality in Judah. I maintain our home inside and out not by choice. I just happen to be the only one in our family who doesn't have allergies. Clutter is the only thing that stresses me out. So everything in the house has to be minimal and functional for ease of maintenance and everything outside is minimal, clutter free or have a purpose like my vegie patch. It's much easier to maintain when your the only one responsible for it. Love your work 🙂

Awesome job to both of you!! Lots of hard work! I love the look of very small cluster of tree groves. Maybe 1-2 together then 50 feet away another 1-2 together. Also that walkway looked like it could have been some sort if small deck platform for maybe a grill and buffet table?? 😁

Judah, you did a great job helping your dad! That trimmer must be heavy too! This clean-up was pretty cool.

Yes I'm easily amused but that little tree wrapping itself around the swing set was pretty cool. Maybe that was a 2nd deck for more seating back in the day. Obviously not been used in a long while. I'm impressed that your boys can use the trimmer. I'm 46 and have yet to learn. This was a huge job. You both deserved a treat after this one.

Wow,wow, wow ! Hats off to you and Judah ! So proud of you both. That little platform was possibly used as a sitting area so adults could bar-be-que, or just sit and watch the children play. A yard that has trees and shrubs around the boundry line is my preference, with a faw well-placed shade trees in the larger open areas, throw in a hammock between the trees and it is heaven on earth. Too bad a group of volunteers/neighbours/local businesses couldn't repair that back deck - it should be an added way to exit the home in case of a fire. God bless you all !

Definitely minimalistic especially since most of the owners cannot afford the upkeep or do it themselves. Get rid of all low hanging tree branches, cut hedges short (they'll grow back quick enough) and trim the bottom of hedges clearing 4-6 inches from ground so leaves etc can be blown away easily and weed eaten with ease as well.
Sorry I'm an older woman who used to have great difficulty maintaining my property. I now live in a studio.
Love that you and your sons help needy homeowners.
    Much ❤ from Hawaii!

great job Judah! i say minimal trees and bushes is best. gets to be too much when they grow. my guess is that is a fence panel that got left in the backyard

Personally I prefer clear cut property, especially if its a kids play space. I'm a grandma now but always like to see my kids and now grandkids, easily when they were playing outside. You and Judah did a great job. What a wonderful thing training your children to give back. God bless you guys!!
