Still one of my favorite scenes from my favorite show. It's so incredibly moving in season 2 how the other characters just see what John's going through - finally - and that's all it takes for them to want to help him. No need for it to be more than that - sometimes we just see people hurting and want to help, with nothing owed and no ulterior motives. It's a critical message to be reminded of when you're going through it, that your friends and family may only need to find out that you're hurting to be there for you. The other example of this I love is Birdbath - how he eventually just sees that John's suffering and decides to help, despite having no particular reason to like him.
I love the tenor of season 2. In Season 1 more and more people get included in the situation, complicating John's mission. But in season 2 they all converge to help him. It's a beautiful resolution.
WHen he looks up and sees his mother, and the mask of pain he's in breaks into a smile is just heart breaking. One of my favorite scenes from the series, thank you for uploading this.
Great tune. and an absolutely great series. the person(s) at Prime who cancelled this show should be shown the door. it was inventive, different (my god who would want that he said sarcastically). and Dorman was great. the whole cast was great. Prime, you should be ashamed of yourself!
can someone please explain the lyrics? I am good enough with english to enjoy many nuances of this amazing show, but don't get all of the meaning of this one. I enjoy it anyway because it is cool. probably.
@@sureshotjohn I'm still watching Patriot - I go back to it from time to time. Michael Dorman's voice is so perfect for these songs. I know why you said this is your comfort song - it is so soothing. Conrad's use of music is absolutely the best of anything I've ever seen - and there is so much musicality to the dialogues as well. I used to edit films but I love the way Conrad just sets up the camera and lets the scene play out as if on stage. No editing. No cutaways. Just brilliant!
The way this show was written with powerful moments implementing call backs from much earlier, I wonder if the entire character of Ichebob was written for this scene. Its hard to pick a favorite song from the show but maybe its this one.
