Sadly amethyst is extremely rare BUT! There are lots of similar quartz/agate formations near where I live. I wish I could come to Tucson to show you. I'm sure there's some of it floating around out there. I hope you get to see some! Very similar to this material!

I watched your interview with Lapidary Dave in 2 seconds i knew it was you ,the old German agates are one for my collection ! Do you ever trade? If i sent first my collection is very old, a lot of the places are no more, ill look if you have IG, but i was thinking I have old Brazilian with water and your saw would be great for enhydro's!!
