  • Today...Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
This is not the same Polaris I sold a couple of weeks ago...I have sold a bunch of these and try to have more ready when one sells...I just got this one back from Jeff the Tech today...
This is another one of the Super Cool 1960's Guyatone Made Kent Polaris Guitars with a really hot Hound Dog Taylor Style Pickups and original Sunburst Finish!! .... I have sold at least 2 dozen of these Polais guitars..they are great little guitars and I have yet to have a complaint about any one of them.....
I love these..they have quality parts, set up with easy playing action, the pickups always sound strong, and they don't sell for alot...A seller like me has to love these..I try to have one availiable all the time ........This guitar will Rock you away with its Huge Tone...If you haven't experienced one of these..be prepared to be blown away........This Guitar is ready to go.....It is truly a magical guitar....It plays great and it sounds even better......
What we have here today is a really nice 1960's Guyatone Made Kent Polaris Hard Tail Ry Cooder Pickups Made in Japan Guitar .....I love this one......It has 2 very hot Pickups, Original hardware, Pickguard and Kent Plastic bridge, and it plays and sounds like you would expect it to......This is a very cool guitar...they play and sound great.....it is an awesome find and some lucky customer is going to get this really cool guitar...You will not believe these pickups when you get it...Strong and Ballsy...Best way I can describe them....they are ridiculous.....The pickup selector switch toggles between the neck pickup and both. Very unique.
Lets review whats original on this one....
It has the original Neck, Kent Logo, Head Stock, Tuner grommets, nut, body, Teisco Ry Cooder Style Hot Pickups, Kent Plastic adjustable bridge, tailpiece, knobs, and Pickguard..
Now lets see whats not original...
Nothing!! ......Jeff the tech did a great job with this one.....He worked on the neck to give it great easy playing action and it intonates all the way up the 20 frets.....it looks great.......This guitar is ready to rock for another 50 Years!! ..Sorry...no case with this one...
It looks good, sounds good, and plays good...It has low easy playing action... it will all be pro-packed by yours truly...I do this alot and have not had one complaint.... It has a few nicks and scratches as seen in the pics but it is a solid 8.5 out of 10 Guitar..
Some lucky buyer is going to be really happy they got this guitar. They don't come up often and sell quickly when they do. It is sold as-is no returns as it vintage and used..However, I have been hand-picking my customers guitars for over 14 years now and have had nothing but happy customers. This one will not be an exception.
Thanks for checking out my cool guitars.

I bought one of those brand new in 1967 at the old Gibson's department store in Tyler, Tx. Mine was red sparkle and had 3 of those same pickups. I gave $39.95 for it new. To this day I think about how fat and clear those pickups sounded.

I had one, bought it for $25. I used an old tape recorder for an amp.

This one was my first gigging guitar in 1966/67 . It did the job on stage fine until i upgraded later.

I have a Kent Model 690, with 4 original goldfoil pickups and the bizarre wiring configuration/switch setup.
Inherited from my Grandfather. One of my prized possessions due to the sentimental value.

Dude the goldfoils on these sounded awesome. Very Eastwood Airline sounding.

Say, off hand, do you know how I would lower the action on one of these? I can't find the truss or the bridge adjustments. I see the plate nuts under the bridge but they're all the way down.

I removed it entirely and had a thinner hardwood bridge made and set up from there.

If you remove the neck, there are some paper shims that can be manipulated to change the angle of the neck to lower the action.

Facebook marketplace is where I've found both mine. Less than $200 each.
