Nah. The crit catch animation with one shake and STILL no catch is the real heartbreaker. Of course on the other hand, now in SV a crit catch is a guaranteed catch.

I play Sun and Ultra Sun did other people get PTSD from it I barely remember it other than the fact that I used Clear Smog to get rid of its boss boost stats so it had normal stats.

I have a GRUDGE against Necrozma just because of how bullish!t hard the fight was. I COULDNT EVEN FINISH THE GAME BECAUSE OF IT.
@@user-lh5dc5cy1b True, but I don't think I had any trouble with necrozma in the 2 times I fought him. I think I just used curse, so there was no way Necrozma could kill my team before the curse and super effective moves killed him. No idea people had trouble with Necrozma.
For me I used a very scuffed method where I just used Alolan Raichu to tank one attack and then hope to god that when I tag Incineroar in, Necrozma would use that one move that doesn't do damage (I had to reset a lot) (it took a lot out of me and I physically couldn't even go back to change my team or anything because I saved while in Necrozma's arena)

The Beldum line's catch rate of 3 has always baffled me. Forget Shiny hunting, the time where I tried to catch Beldum in Sun in a Beast Ball was insane. I got one, and I am super happy about that (and that I can pass the Beast Ball down via breeding). But that required some ridiculous setting up.

@@WiiMote070 Because competitive players are crazy and want their Pokemon not just competitively viable, but also in the "right" kind of Poke Ball. I've never regretted putting in that work because I never have to do it again, and I can now have Metagross in Beast Balls. My Shiny Mega Metagross in a Beast Ball was something I have been super thankful for. It certainly was/is not necessary, but I don't regret it.
The Beast Ball has a 0.01% chance to catch anything that isn't an Ultra Beast. Beldum has a 3% of being caught. You got it in the end, but what did it cost to try?
I think it originally had that catch rate cause in ruby and sapphire you only got one as a gift? You’d never encounter it in the wild so it didn’t matter what the catch rate was. I really think they should of just changed it later on tho lol ^^”
@@lastchanc3stars Technically, it's a x0.1 multuiplier, not x0.01. What did it cost? Some time, but I seem to recall that it didn't take as long as I would have thought, which I was thankful for. I also get to bless my friends by giving them something cool. Maybe I was crazy, but I still don't regret it.

I got mine in a Great Ball, and since then (and catching Tapu Koko in one) I have subscribed to the Church of Great Ball, praise be the greatest ball.
Of course Bulbasaur’s catch rate was increased.

Pro tips for shiny hunting Beldum (Based on the way I did it in both Scarlet and Ultra sun.)
1) Any pokemon with the Harvest ability will be your friend. In both regions, you could either use A. Exegutor or Trevenant.
2) Use a ghost type so it can't take damage from Take Down. In Scarlet I used Ceruledge, and in Alola i just got Beldum's HP just barely into the red.
3) If you don't have a ghost type handy so Beldum can't kill itself with Take Down, try to use a mon that resists it and just spam sleep moves.
4) Use a pokeball with a good catch rate. I'm a pretty seasoned shiny hunter, so i caught mine in a Premire Ball cuz i enjoy pain, but unless you have all day to try catching it, just use an Ultra ball or even a Master ball.

You got a good Rng roll, If I don't miss remember Kyogre at 1hp,asleep and with ultra balls has around a 10% capture chance.

I caught Groudon (granted it was in gen 6) in a Pokeball in a recent Omega Ruby playthrough after spamming like 20 Ultra Balls. I genuinely think it just liked the color coordination of the ball with its base form.

Best way of catching it is with a ghost type with hypnosis and something with false swipe
@@potatoeboithat can get countered too if you have a LOT of balls and time. Leftovers, any item swapping move that works even if the enemy doesn't hold anything, and another mon with Spore + Leppa + Recycle. The only way to fail the catch is to run out of balls, or a player misplay.

Your methods may be effective but very tedious for a single beldum, making it sleep with a ghost type and chucking out balls is the way to go if you just need a beldum to use for breeding or just for ur casual gameplay team.
No one is probably trying to hunt a shiny beldum through wild encounters now, breeding is surperior.

I spent two hours and a lot of ethers on catching rayquayza with a timer ball. Double team for me, and sand attack for when he struggled. It was worth it

Catching Beldum on HGSS should get an honorable mention as being more difficult to catch than FEEBAS! Not only do you have to learn the convoluted method of customizing the Safari Zone, but you also have to wait months, yes, MONTHS, for it to even be possible to encounter. And even once it CAN be encountered, its catch rate of 3 plus the fact that it can FLEE means you'll probably spend dozens of hours just trying to catch ONE!

Here is something funny about Groudon and Kyogre. They used to have a catch rate of 5, but it got DROPPED in ORAS to 3 like all the others because you never needed to catch them to advance the plot, just STOP them.

That Beldum catch rate kicked me in the ass in Violet. I was shony hunting a Metang at an outbreak. Shiny Beldum popped up instead. Flung Leppa Berries to him to heal PP on Take Down, Heal Pulsed it numerous times, and spent my entire inventory of Pokeballs. I eventually used the Master Ball on the lil psycho. "Metang?" The Metagross has been the MVP since, though.

Ah Beldum, I remember trying to find a Minor in USUM to complete my Pokedex when I randomly encountered a shiny Beldum.
I was able to catch it, but I was not prepared for it.

I think the reason Necrozma’s catch rate was so high in that game was because it had no energy left after being slain in its ultra form so its fighting using the energy given by the player
