After I wrote here earlier it was by no means trying to top Dr. Betters answer. It was something I felt that I needed to say. I do not understand all of The Bible. It can be very confusing. What I said here was a way of me saying I do agree with Dr. Betters. And for years and years some of us have been scared into thinking God is out to get us and punish us and that is not true. He is our Father.

When you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, he took the stone heart we have out and replaced it with a different heart. One which automatically tells us when we have done something wrong. We become more aware of what God wants for our life. And Christ also stated he would give us a helper, that helper being The Holy Spirit. You are full of The Holy Spirit as you will ever be. God sealed that And that is because God lives in your heart. You are a changed person. But it is all possible by Grace by God's grace. That is what makes makes it all possible for us. It's easy because of his grace. Too many people try to make it hard. It is not hard because we are not accepted because of our works or deeds. When Christ died on the cross and shed his blood, that action by him washed away our sins in the past, in the present, and the future. That is proved when he died on the cross and right before he died he said, "it is finished." And went to sit by the right hand of our God.

can anyone help me. I've been struggling with if i am truly saved. the past week or 2 I've been hungry for gods word but it's kinda off and on. some times i do sometimes i don't. i'm very worried lately if i am saved. i want to believe in Jesus but i can't. i doubt and just can't believe. i don't what to do i've trying to believe almost a year. please help. god bless amen.

Is repentance leaving all sin and then getting saved ? I still smoke cigarettes !! Does that mean I’m not truly repented and gotten saved? Do we have to clean ourselves up in order to be in the catergory of someone who has truly repented ??

You need deliverance from addiction. Any thing compulsive is addiction. Ask Jesus to deliver you fro the spirit of addiction. Ask Him to take the desire for cigs away
The only evidence in scripture given that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit when they recieved is the speaking in tongues( Acts ch.2,10,and ch.19). Without this initial evidence ,the believer has no scriptural proof that they have recieved the Holy Spirit yet.
