Yes, to getting admission in NIT & IIIT you need to qualify JEE Main, while for IIT you need to clear JEE Main with around 2.5 lakh rank needed for attempt JEE Advanced.
Each university are good but, nit's are very good but NIT silchar has an edge over NIT patna in terms of infrastructure. both the colleges have very good placements.

Which college should i opt nit durgapur or IIIT KANCHIPURAM?
Well both the college have there own specific field, But yes, NIT Durgapur is considered higher then IIIT Kanchipuram.
I have getting nit silcher,Patna ,iiit Lucknow and AIT Pune for cs.which will be good.

IITs will get you through JEE Advanced not by JEE Main, and the fees of IITs is around 211400 INR / per annum
