Grohl has become such a great front man but there's just something about when he's behind a kit that feels exactly how it's supposed to.

    • @TheOminousbeanbag
      @TheOminousbeanbag 4 роки тому +15

Honestly as wonderful as this is I can't imagine him behind the kit for more than 15 minutes of a 2 hour set. He's just too dynamic up front. I'm firmly in the Foo Fighters generation being born in 89 but I never really liked them until I finally saw them live last week at a festival. His ability to connect with a crowd is too much to deny.

Also damn the rest of that band is fucking talented and their stage production is unreal.

@@TheOminousbeanbag I think you would enjoy the Rockpalast performance by Them Crooked Vultures. Dave's behind the drums, but he provides way more vocals in that show than he does in the album. In my opinion, it's a great piece of evidence that he can't be held back by the drum kit 😜

@It'sme Josh I feel the exact same way man. You'd think he would of lost a step after being a frontman and guitarist for so many years(which he's damn good at), but no, dude is an animal with sticks in his hand. He will always be a drummer first in my mind

    A vision of you there
    Standing tall
    By the gate
    Everything is new
    Stare into
    What is not
    Yet
    As your bones grow
    And you feel the pain
    In exchange
    Experiences hang
    Run round your mind
    And collide
    Hang your toes
    Over the edge
    Cause you can
    You can switch your place
    Hide inside
    If you try
    You'll open up your eyes
    And realize
    How you fit
    In the wild
    A lion is a lion
    No apologies
    And a leash
    Is a leech
    In a corral
    You're safe and warm
    Pass it on to
    Every Sheep
    Time and time again
    You stick your self
    To accept
    Someone else
    Give up the wish
    Let go of the dream
    Barricade
    Fantasy
    Burn the dogma
    Let the fire
    Overtake
    The desire
    To define
    (I will find a way
    To keep this moment)
    What's raging
(For myself I will find a way)
    Out of control
    Like a wheel
    (I will find a way)
    Like a storm
(To keep this moment for myself)
    Like a virus
    (I will find a way)
    Like an ocean
    Like a silence
    (I will find a way)
    An emotion
(To keep this moment for myself)
    Like a darkness
    (I will find a way)
    Like a chance
    An idea
    (I will find a way)
    Like a verb
    Like an outrage
(To keep this moment for myself)
    Like a sunrise
    Like a monster
    (I will find a way)
    Like a monster
    Like a mantra
    Like a mantra
    (Nothing be the same)
    (Nothing be the same)
    (Nothing be the same)
    (Nothing)
    And all of this
    Will never be the same
    Again
    And all of this
    Will never be the same
    Again
    And all of this
    Will never be the same
    Again
    And all of this
    Will never be the same
    Again
    And all of this
    Will never be the same
    Again
    And all of this

And now, 2019 there is a new Tool song at least. I find myself listening to this again and again. And the most recent Tool song, Fear Inoculum. We can just hope for a revitalization of the 1989's and 1990's, music before that and during those times and before was different. In an amazing way. I was a baby back then but by a God, do I wish I was alive even before that so I could've experienced everything. I've still lived a weird life, hell I joined the military out of a spurt of the moment. But I'd rather experience all that could've been with the music then than live the life I have now.

Hi!! Me too! I hear this a lot and there are times everyday in the morning. I Identify myself with this song. For me talks about aging and superation. About personal success, failure and overcome difficulties trough times. Find our space in live, in time with another person. I hear it as a preparation for the day, to meditate and also to remember who I am, because in a world like this it is easy to become intoxicated by the others and just act reacting. About the new Tool album i don't know quite well yet. I can hear it but does not hit me like lateralus. Take care my friend.

while a crescendo in music often refers to an increase in volume, due to the colloquial usage of the word meaning "to increase in dramatic effect over time" it has also changed in music to refer to building of texture, overlaying parts, or even an increase in note volume per measure, as well as the classical meaning.

The mystic vibe of going from more major chords to minor is beautiful, always works in every song I hear that in.
Reminds me a lot of Just Like You Imagined from NIN also, if you haven't heard that instrumental song from The Fragile I'd check it out right away.

The most thing(s) of this amazing holy piece of music I love most, is the straightness and clearness of perfection in the beginning to become louder, more explosive and exciting from minute minute. This really blows my mind.

Apologies if this is a comment further down, but its good to notice the vocal change between Dave and Trent on this song. Awesome and subtle. Yes, Trent did a lot of guitars on this song but it was a total collaboration (IMO) and is just epic.

Ésta canción no se puede describir; se nota el estilo único que tiene cada uno de los genios que están al frente: Reznor, Grohl y Josh, mezclados en el sonido.
Totalmente impecable, tal vez melancólica, tal vez misteriosa.

A partir del minuto 6:00 empiezo a cantar "nadie puede ser feliz, todo tiene que ser como otros quieren" a la par cuando Trent Reznor canta "and all of this, will never be the same again", es tan satisfactorio para mi.

That baseline is so josh and the whole composition just highlights each of their strengths so perfectly its kind of unreal. I'm so glad they let trent go off at the end and do his thing. Dave sounded very very honest and beautifully raw and Josh's harmonies are fuckin perfect of course. Perfection.
