My family and I got on the silver line at tysons corner and went into DC on July 4th, 2015. This was a better alternative than driving! We are from upstate NY and will be back to do it again the end of July to show our kids DC. We will once again ride the silver line.
+SuperDuckman24 Yes all the original series cars are still in service starting with the 1000's, until more of the 7000 cars arrive. There are not nearly enough of the new cars in service yet.

Soon!

Jim Knapp It was really nice to ride that new Branch, should be that much better once the new trains are used there. All of the stations are nice.
1:45 I rode that rail car #6000 on the green line
I like the red light edge
I like them too, unfortunately they are removing them and using clear lights now
Imo these trains look and sound like a bart train
It takes about 20-30mins as you will have to transfer at Metro Center for the Silver Line
so it looks like they still use the 2000 - 6000 series + the 7000 series, or has that changed?

Same...7000 series on Green line.
How long of a ride do you think it would be from Union Station to Tyson Corner?
Have you tried using the suction cup mount to the side of the train yet?
