Sir, my name is Fred , I am from Belgium,
Since several months I have been following your videos and podcasts and I just want to say that you are one of the key persons of my life , after a difficult divorce and the separation with my son… I found myself in a very difficult situation…
I didn’t gave up and your videos and books have been game changers !

I want to thank you , echo Charles , leif and all the members of your team for this help that you share !
    Good bless you all

Gold. Started training BJJ 3 years ago thanks to Jocko’s podcast. How can you not be intrigued by the way they describe the JiuJits?!

Kudos to Muggsy Bogues: a very good example of what learned skills can do to overcome a genetic "disadvantage" (at least from a basketball standpoint).
    Thanks.

I'm GRATEFUL I was born short, predominantly fast-twitch muscle fiber, explosive and with a fast metabolism. It allowed me to try out for a competitive gymnastics team, have VAULTING as my very best event (highly valued in women's gymnastics) and get offered a full-ride scholarship to stay on the team!! Competitive gymnastics is a much more technically difficult and physically/mentally taxing sport than basketball. The media keeps harping on basketball, for good reason though.

@@albertocassardo9655 I'm grateful at least someone agrees with me on the net (you have NO idea the battles I've seen - lol). I've never watched basketball before and I have nothing against it. I just know you cannot compare pro basketball to competitive/elite gymnastics!!! Apples vs. oranges.
I'm looking forward to watching Simone Biles (my favorite athlete) and the entire Olympic gymnastics coverage coming up. It's going to be beautiful in Paris!! I love those dainty little pastry shops with all the colorful macarons. I wonder if they'll give out free goodie bags to the athletes (they must get tired of protein bars)?

“We must remember that one man is much the same as another, and that he is best who is trained in the severest school.” Thank you for your service Jocko (and your military, police and firemen colleagues as well) 🫡🙏

behavioral genetics has been a decades-long failure. at best, genes set the stage for general affective tendencies and environment + mental life are the best level of explanation for damn near everything else
