  • Laura Marling launched her music career in England when she was only 16 - but, despite widespread acclaim, she nearly quit a couple of years ago after an "existential crisis" in LA. Today, the introspective singer-songwriter joins Shad to discuss the songs that brought her back to music, the dips in her journey, and why she's more comfortable being called an "old soul" these days.

q is a magazine show that’s unpredictable in the best sense - proud to be “a wild mix of culture by way of Canada” as described by the New York Times. The Globe & Mail noted the show’s “raging popularity across a variety of platforms -- podcasts, television, websites, satellite radio, terrestrial radio, and occasional live remote broadcasts."

This interview had me in tears. She's so human and so in touch with her spirit and soul in the most gorgeous of ways. Her music is beyond extraordinary and angelic.

What a great interview. I love how Laura was rather reserved for the first few minutes, but by mid-interview, she was open and talkative. This is a credit to Shad, who won her over with simple, contemplative questions and an open, quiet, smiling style with superb follow-up questions. Well done, both Laura and Shad! Thank you for this interview.

Great interview, it's always fascinating when an artist acknowledges their successes and failings, we're all only human after all!

check out a The Atlantic column titled "Why Writers Should Look Back for Inspiration" she wrote in 2015. She mentions The Cornish Trilogy and The Rebel Angels. she develops on her favourite reads, I personally enjoyed finding out

The subconscious can be pretty scary, especially if you're not really on good terms with it. Better to weeble than to wobble.
