Hello Sir, I heard if your layover exceeds 12hrs you will need a transit visa. I'm from Eastern Africa

What if I have 13 hours layover in pty to my next flight? Do I need to go through immigration or will I need transit visa while I just change from Copa to Turkish and I don’t have checked-in baggage? Please reply

There is insufficient information in your question to give a good answer. However if you are simply transferring connecting flights which are part of the SAME one booking with the same airline (even if you change between their alliance partner and their flight) then your hold baggage is transferred and you walk to the next gate without leaving the gates area. Your airline will tell you if your baggage is transferred and you must check with them rather than rely on anyone else. However if you booked two separate non-connecting flights, then all the above does not apply.

What can I do at the airport while I have a 3 hour layover?

Nothing much except look at the shops and get something to eat, unless you want to risk missing your next flight. Of course you could exit and go to the nearest mall or Panama’s archeological site (not enough time to see it all) and get back with no problem, but everything would have to go perfectly and you would need to leave almost as soon as you got there. Not worth it. Better to book flights with a longer gap.

Can I manage if I don't speak or read in spanish? I'm thinking of Australia, because I don't feel, being alone, I could manage the language difference.

Yes you can manage, at check in and onboard they will speak English, and in the terminal the monitors are simple to read, all Copa staff in the terminal will be able to speak English too. Your hold baggage receipt will have the airport code on it eg BOG for Bogota PTY for Panama Tocumen.

Panama is one of the most racist and worst airport I have ever seen. My family and I were going for a 10days holiday with Schengen residence permit. All our documents were ok and up to date but we were denied entry and treated like a piece of trash with a 6month old and 2 year old baby. I will never advice anyone to chose this country for holidays especially from Europe.

You are obviously leaving out some important details.... First, you don't go 'on holiday' with a 'residence permit', which means you are not native Euiropeans... Should we start there? And who goes on 'holiday with a 6mo old and a 2yr old? Are you in therapy? It's honestly pretty hard to be denied entry to Panama... unless the purpose of your trip was to make your way to the US illegally. Am, I getting warm...?
