- Step by step guide on how to remove a rear shock absorber in a Mercedes E Class W212 or S212 shape. A very simple tutorial and takes possibly around 1 hour with basic tools.

Thank you, this helped out enormously!! I changed the shocks today, tested and all hunky dory. Great video
Based on previous experience might I recommend a fairly liberal coating of some sort of penetrating oil WD-40, Liquid wrench etc....spray on about 24 -48 hours prior to removal. Spray the bolts at least the bottom mounting bolt. It may not seem like it but it will help in loosening the nut. Apply a couple of sprays 24 hours prior and immediately before loosening the lower nut.
good video I'm going to be replacing mine soon looks straight forward thanks
Any video for front stabilizer linkage???
Thank you man for this video its very helpful. This problem with air suspension is a common problem. One more question how did you remove the inne black cover towards the folding seat (over the 2 bolts you removed)
what problem did you have?
Can you help me with some information about how to remove the black interior trim?
Thanks for video, this shock abrorber is with oil or gass ? Regards
How many miles were on the car what were the symptoms did u do a push down test on the shock did it go up right away or slow. ???
Please show how to remove those covers
Does the diagnostic tool provide mileage correction ??
Thanks for the good video.... it is ok if I buy a used original one and change only the side that has a problem? I have a problem with the back right side only. just when I drive on the small bumps then it says click click!
what problem did you have?
@@ad3emoqlf908 Thanks, I fixed it, it was a shock absorber
me when I drive sometimes she lowers herself sometimes no, what can it be please?
@@ad3emoqlf908 It's normal, for the car, to have an air spring and the car will automatically adjust itself according to weight or standing in a bumpy place.
so don't worry about it, and its normal :-)
@@makoesem ok thanks
Do I need a special tool to remove the top mount from the old shock?
bit late - but a deep spanner round the nut with a allen key in the top of the thread
Doesn't the E class W212have air suspension and the shocks have ride adjustments on the shocks ??
the wagons came with normal coil-over front suspension and self-leveling (not controllable) rear air suspension. The sedans came with optional "Air-matic" which had fully controllable air suspension on all 4 corners
Working on a car supported by the spare tire jack?
Not a good look
Holy shit are these w212 all that rusty ? I am starting to dig deep in my s212 facelift and I cant believe it's so rusty for E class, before I hada BMW e60 which was 10 older and looked better...
