Great video. This is what I was looking for. I love the comparison part at the end with games similar to it and how it’s similar. Great job!!! I have a feeling that they have a diamond in the rough with this game. They just need to listen to the feedback and make the resources on the map more efficient
Thank you! I don't necessarily mind the simple implementation of the resources (but I get it,) but I would love to see more replayability. I do agree it's a pretty solid game and all of the folks I've introduced it too liked it. Episode 13 of the Weekly Ratchet has some nice photos of it and some opinion from my friends from Indianapolis. Welcome!
Clash of Culture is a bit assymetrical if you play the monumental edition (with the baked in expansions). Not a great deat, but you get 4? culture specific abilites if I remember correctly that might steer you in certain directions in the other tech trees. Thanks for the comparison btw, I own all of CoC, TtA and Mosaic, so I'm not sure I want to add another civ game.
On the fence with this because I love 4x and civ games but this might be too simple and to me combat is very important (at least to me) and it sounds very blah here
I dunno that I'd call the game "simple" overall, but combat is definitely not it's prominent aspect. If that's a big must for you, this one probably isn't want what you want.
I can tell you I've seen FAR worse rules in a prototype. :) I should clarify though - the rules "exist" - they just weren't detailed out in the draft rulebook I was provided. I've asked for an updated PDF of the rulebook.
I'm a simple man... A new video from Jeff, I clic on it. 👍
I think it's about time your channel gets more viewers!
You'll get no arguments from me! I'm workin' on it!
100%
Epochs look like the game in my dreams: Simpler Through the Ages with an explorable map...
And I just got civ new dawn too...

Great commentary, thx. Loved the comparison. By the way it E- Pocks not epics!
Ah but not true! Ee-poks is the European pronunciation. "EP-UKS" is the American pronunciation. Google it (as I did)! :) Cheers!
I like Clash of Culture is pretty fun wish the board was a little bigger, feels like a Civ (computer game) if only the first era.

Isn't it slightly absurd that a game can have the box and artwork ready, but not the combat rules?
