- My first Festool Review and I'm starting at the top with the NEW Battery Table Saw. The Festool CSC SYS 50 Jobsite saw is a nifty bit of kit, but is it worth it?

It looks like it belongs in an office. Does it have markings for A3, A4, and Letter 😂. Does look very nicely made - those linear slides were very smooth.
Ditto. Totally agree with ya! This beauty does not belong 2 heavy duty job. This lady is for kitchen nd makeup
Where's the toner cart go?
I mean, some heavy duty paper equipment is pretty similar to wood tools. Paper drills, for example.
I have had a notebook or two that had angled edges. A beveled cut on this would be perfect.
@@jpl0713Lmao get a dewalt she's for the streets.😂
Beautiful little saw for a toothpick manufacturer. I'll hang on to my discontinued 240V Dewalt.
Great little saw. just missing one thing…..a power cord.
Yeah it goes through battery during a fitting but two sets of batteries works fine.
@@Therealphantomzero so you have another set of batteries? On a charger I presume?.. the charger being plugged in? … see the issue here? you don’t need any batteries at all if this things got a cord. a cord into the extractor. And the extractor into the wall. your paying a premium for battery’s with basically zero advantage over a cord.
@@richiejames928 um I get it, I would prefer to be hybrid. But cordless is a benefit. When doing installed finding a convenient plug is an issue. Sometimes no power. So I have a corded extractor but I also have a cordless one. My trailer has. 6kwhr battery with solar, so if no power I can keep batteries charged but running extension is not always convenient. This is actually why I use Metabo HPT tools whenever I can because it has hybrid option. Miter saw, just got the track saw, etc. So far on this install I'm on I've been using one set of batteries for the last few days. The other job I had to do was in equivalent size but more detailed scribing was involved. Cutting hard maple etc. So I didn't have another set of batteries. So by lunch I was charging and back up and running. We only had one outlet to use. And extractor kept popping new arc fault systems. So it's a big benefit to have batteries now
A ripping blade would have helped especially over that 40T blade. most cordless circular saws don’t like 40T full kerf for rips
How many dudes that own two boats, seventeen hand guns and thirty television sets have come in to say that they can’t afford Festool yet? Contractor spends $40k on building materials and $20k on labor and $3k on fixings. Said contractor turns around and bitches about the hundred dollar difference between a German made and Chinese made sander.
It's not a 100 dollers difference though it's more like 2000 dollars different and built like a Christmas cracker toy.
it is a well designed finish saw. One thing I noticed it with all the digital components, they didn't make the fence have a digital readout. A simple laser pointed at the blade would make that easily possible. But it also makes me wonder about longevity with all the motors involved.
Keeping my Metabo HPT/Hikoki 36v table saw. Simpler, more rugged design. And AC power when I have it.
Ha! Hell yes. Thank you for the normal real life on screen performance review! No BS. I love it.
Cheers
I am a Festool fan, and a Makita fan. I personally do not have a need for a battery powered tablesaw, but it is fun to see a saw like this hit the market. I would agree that Festool saws tend to feel under powered, but they are precise and when used with their dust exractors they tend to get the job done and relatively dust free. It is frustrating that they come out with an updated track saw that basically just has a thinner blade on it to make it feel more powerful, but they won't sell you a thinner riving knife so you can upgrade your existing saw with the thinner blade. Why Festool makes a charger that doesn't have fans is beyond me. They make them with fans, and they are only a little more expensive, but they don't sell them with tools or battery sets. For that its hard for this Festool fan not to raise the middle finger to them. So hard in fact that I am pecking out this little rant with my two middle fingers. Festool, you are supposed to be premium. Start including your best tools/accessories for sale in kits. You offer a floor cleaning set (577259) but the hose is only 3.5m long. Why not let us pick our own hose length separately so we could get a 5m or 7m one? You don't need the hose in the box, let us buy two boxes, (accessories in one, hose in the other) but at the combo price.
Japan being known for their precision menufacturing and instruments plus excellent electronics should release a similar saw...I'm surprised Makita has not though of such as saw as above and Festool beat them to it. Maybe one day...
Festool do make a rapid charger with fans, it’s the SCA8.
Yes please, I would love to see more Festool reviews. Perhaps a faceoff between the Makita and Festool mitre saws or recip saws? There are some who don't understand the difference between a delicate finishing tool like the CXS 12 and a standard battery drill so it would be good to compare like for like where possible. Thank you kindly for the video.
With right blade it can rip pressure treated 4x2 no problems.I think I got around 25m from 5.2ah batteries
Last month, when I passed through Sydney and tried to buy it, it was already sold out everywhere, one benefit of this saw is that it can share blades with my TS60 track saw. The 5.2 Ah battery is an old model, the new 4 Ah battery has a higher output. Therefore, Festool always uses the 4 Ah battery for demonstrations.
Festool is always great my et2 random orbital is still going strong 25 years also got the geared random orbital and the ct36 vac is unbeatable but kapex saw planer router it is always eye watering in cost but worth it
I love my DeWalt cordless table saw it's the only DeWalt that I actually use. The fact that it is so quiet and vibration free makes it a delight
The Festool saw clocks in at about 80 dB. How about your deWalt? DeWalt’s corded ones, i.e the 7491 (US) and its European sibling the 7492 clocks in at 105 dB! Bigger blade, but you can’t really use it in e.g. a basement shop with neighbours on two sides. The Festool, albeit with a smaller blade, can be used in such a setting. If you need to rip larger sheets a track saw might be an option (I do like my Makita track saw).
Great review. Thanks so much for taking the time to do all of this. I really wish these cordless Festool tools came with options to add a cord. I have very limited space in my work area and would love to have the option to convert this compact table saw into a permanent fixture. Also, I can seriously watch you cut wood for hours without getting "board".... I mean bored. Haha
Brilliant review for a brilliant piece of kit! Thanks!
If they had a corded version I would buy it today
rumor said festool is going to release a "battery" with cable
I'm waiting for a corded version of the 216mm 40V Makita mitre saw. Waiting.... waiting....
@@jchan0425 I've been waiting 7 years for this. I hope the rumors are right.
Great editing at the beginning what a pleasure to watch.
I seldom find the need to adjust the blade angle or set a specific blade height. I would have preferred if a Digital Readout had been incorporated into the fence instead.
So you don’t do much joinery then?
@@eirikmangseth7952 I use a Domino for most joinery
I have seen plenty reviews of the festool table saw. But Mr Tools reviews are always thorough.
Making my workshop filled with more Makita power tools.
Thanks Mr Tools for the hard work making the videos. Really appreciate it
You didnt go on how when you adjust the bevel the saw blade stays at the same height! Such a gem of a tool but only for parquetry flooring blokes. Love your work mate cheers
MAKITA 40volt table saw please makita!
Id love one of these if they weren’t so expensive or a festool product, I’d buy one.
Had a Festool TS 55 track saw, used it very little. When I did use it, it was always underpowered for its size. The motor developed a hum with no power at all. Again very little use. A price tag of $278 to repair plus shipping.
Bought a new Makita track saw, fits the Festool rails. Runs great, as it should.
Festool can keep their gimmicky toys, I got fooled once, I buy real tools.
It looks like the saw comes with the 42 tooth fine finish blade. I don't know why they include that because it's not at all appropriate for thick rip cuts. They sell a 28 tooth universal blade that would be much better all around and on a job site, or better yet get the 16T ripping blade for rip cuts. The battery should last longer with fewer teeth too.
Wow festool review i do have things from makita xgt 18v and festool and I have to admit that festool does not have that umph lika milwaukee and makita but those extra design functions are crazy and the build quality too
Great review! Please do more Festool reviews! A comparison between Festool and Makita track saws would be great.
Big Cam is the best! Remember him from Scott browns vids. Top bloke
Absolutely not because of the batteries. For the price it should have both a corded and cordless in one unit and the miter gauge should be top of the line like incra. Other than that I really like it.
Edit: and the corded should not have to rely on the batteries being installed. If they want to be top of the line they should be top of the line. No subscription battery service.
The stock blade is for cross cutting and fine finish ripping. 2X4 or 2X6 ripping when done with the ripping blade is like butter and does not have the same effect as what was seen on this video.
Sliding table saw are amazing, I did have higher expectations given the price.
Die hard festool fan of 20yrs. Too bad they are slow to launch in the US
Definitely reminds me of a copy machine, but it seems really cool.
should have used a lower teeth count ripping blade for ripping wood..
yeah im not waiting any longer for makita to bring one out. this will be it!
It should play the Thunderbirds March when the blade comes up.
Great for kitchen fitting and mdf work but the price is bonkers. Even more so if you have to buy the batteries.
I'm a reformed Festool fan👍
thats not a multi purpose blade thats a finish blade, you can read it on the blade. wrong teeth for ripping it has 42 teeth, you need panter blade with 16 teeth. every makita you used hase less teth for ripping thats cheating in favor for makita🤔
I didn't compare it to a Makita...
Festool owners group will have you convinced that you need a 16 tooth blade for a saw. Funny, combo blades are 40t or more. Fuck, I forgot I had a 60t blade on a jobsite saw a month ago and ripped 30ft without noticing.
Festool nice for fiddly asthetics jobs
god i want makita to make an XGT table saw so bad
Festools & Stuff
😬 😅
nice tool but depth of cut is too small for 4 by 2 where we are. Would prefer real 2 inches and a bit more power
Dream tool: Makita 80v cordless table saw.
sick video. i still kinda want to see you run the machine upside down.
can you use conventional 1.8mm kerf 160mm blade in this machine?
let's assume calibrated correctly.
Hi, may I request tests of the Festool TS60 and TSV60 plunge saws?
You can request anything you want.
Tools, great review. Question for you…
I have been experiencing and have seen other post on the FOG forum problems with the sliding table not being level, right to left (not front to back - control panel to dust port). Was this one level out of the box? Did you shim it?
That might be why your miters were open a touch
I don’t need a cordless table saw…. I don’t need a cordless table saw… I don’t need a …oh thank god I don’t need a 8 1/4” saw
I've never checked the decimals on it but it is very quiet
would you tell me if the table top is dead level right across from left edge of slide to right edge of the table with out the folded section
It is nice how they managed to pack all of this in such a small package, but this video shows the limitations of festool battery platform, it is just so underpowered, I cannot take it seriously enough even with all the decent features they have.
Also that blade is not good for ripping and not ideal for crosscuts lol, usually their blades do better.
Great review as always, thanks 😊
Then get the right blade for the job.
@@eirikmangseth7952 sure but what is this one good for?
I remember getting yelled at for using a festool vac to clean pine needles from carpet
Use the Panther ripping blade instead
Is that 33mm at 45° 33mm high at that angle or 33 high at 90° then it leans over?
9:45 use a ripping blade?
Hi. Nice review. Since you are reviewing Festool, is there an opportunity to compare the HKC55 to the Metabo KS 18 LTX 66 BL? I'm looking at one of these, and I'm still undecided.
Mafell as well pls, the same CAS battery standard as Metabo
The build quality on the metabo is a bit average. I guess it depends on what batteries you have. I also have the metabo track saw- but just bought the mafell because same batteries and 100 times better build quality.
Metabo saws are junk. The Festool is somewhat underpowered and can’t cut a 2x4 at a forty five. The Mafell options own them and will cost you a fortune. That’s all you need to know.
@@robertrada6040 haha, fair assessment. I don't think the metabo are that bad if you consider the price. I think mafell is a better option than the festool because the festool battery platform is so limited.
Hi. The Festool I have read is underpowered and I use a lot of hard wood. The build quality is not amazing on the Metabo, but it has more power and deeper depth of cut. Another factor is that it can run on the Bosch/Mafell track saw rails, and I already have 5. Batteries are not an issue, where I am it is a lot cheaper than Festool.
lovely little machine
Nice saw.
I miss Cam appearing in Scott Brown carpentry videos.
yeah would be nice to see what sorts of bigger ac versiion they do, and for what relative price points. but another question is how the best dewalt might compare to a corded festool (and for example with the right choice of blades).
but the other thing is you have now reviewed a table saw, so then probably want to move on to look at the track saws next
you dont rip with that blade that one is for crosscuts
A ripping blade would have made a big difference I'm sure
Wonder how many people will get the reference @27:07
Not me
Poo ehhhhh!
That's a nice appliance. Good for cutting dry salami. It doesn't matter what anyone says, I cannot take Festool seriously. Give me an early 90s Craftsman tablesaw and I can do the same shit. 😂
It looks really nice but guys on a job site would probably break it in 30 minutes.
Wrong blade for rough lumber
How much money did I wager when I said all of the Festool Owners Group guys would come over and tell you to use the Panther blade on rips? 😂. I wonder if any of them have seen how shit the cut is with with 12t and 16t? My rip specific 10” blades are 30t. Just saying.
Prices 😮😮😮😮
For $1,000 to $2,000 it should come calibrated from the factory.
As sophisticated as the saw is it's a joke it's not dual AC/DC power. I have the Milwaukee M18 table saw and the one reason I wouldn't buy this saw is that it's more batteries to buy. I'll wait for Milwaukee's version of this mini table saw
С удовольствием посмотрел крутую🤟машинку FESTOOL🎶просто песня
THANK YOU ✊
Булатный лайк мой👍
it drives me nuts that you only set the blade high enough to BARELY cut the material, this is stupid in real world applications where you may have some warped wood or the piece is very long and it might lift just a little towards the end. why not just raise the blade so that it is well thru the material? it is not safer to have the blade barely cut thru the wood, this is some weird myth people seem to have bought in to in a big way. if the wood kicks back and somehow pulls your hand back thru it will still cut you even if it is barely thru the wood. if you are not paying attention and you run your finger thru the blade as you cut it will not matter if it is barely thru the wood or 2": thru the wood you will still cut yourself.
Lost me at Festool. If you have enough money to buy one. You don't need to work.
I hope to one day be wealthy enough to hire contractors that use Festool. :)
🤔 what would that make Mafell users then?
@@apsynto Mafell users are the 1% that Bernie Sanders keeps talking about.
@@apsynto I live in Australia. You never see Mafell. Hardly see Festool. Most good tool shops sell Festool. But very rarely ever see any on site. When I worked in UK for years. Still didn't see Mafell. Occasionally Festool. But neither are the average site workers tools. More the gentleman woodworker in his posh man cave.
If you’re a contractor that can’t afford Festool, you’re a drug addict with two ex wives collecting alimony.
I’m trying hard to resist buying this table saw … and your video review doesn’t help, NOTHING!
Something like this , needs to be run on 4 consecutive batteries..
and your right festool tools are a tad underpowered, especially the track saws .. there are more powerful and a lot cheaper cordless table saws than this .. ok fanboys ?? 😂😂
