Re-edit: you are blasphemous-!!!

I actually love the ඞ4 no resolve sound
Lol, how did you do the symbol?
@@jesusministryalwaysspeakin3032 Legit I just typed into google "sus ascii" and copied the result
@@plague8163 oh ok, thanks

You probably love it because it is a natural continuation from the V. What this means is that it gives the song a feeling of "neverending", like a memory that you attach To throughout your life and is always there...many songs work this way (mostly songs from the 70's and 80's which always end with fade-out)

Expected an idiot to comment something like this. Didn’t disappoint.
Great comment. Goated
I want someone to make an Among Us inspired song that actually only uses sus chords.
Pretty sus idea
For those wondering, technically, sus-2 and sus-4 are essentially the same only inverted differently. Their construction is also uniquely simple: take a note, add a note a 5th up, add another note another 5th up. Now play with the inversions. They can also disguise modal shifts
This is an important lesson for anyone starting guitar. When I first started there was no internet. We had to figure this out by ourselves or we had someone show us. Haha. This is valuable info. Thank you for posting.
Glad it was helpful!
@@Ashlyn998 keep practicing. It’ll get easier.
AMONGUS
Or as I create chords (from the root).
Sus2 = 0+2+5
Minor = 0+3+4
Major = 0+4+3
Sus4 = 0+5+2
Power = 0+7
Interesting method, thank you for sharing.
Wouldnt that powerchord be minor?
@@arandomsupra No. Power chords only need 2 notes, the root and a fifth above it, in other words, the base note and seven notes up.
Power chords can never be neither major or minor, since you need a third note between the other 2 for that to happen.
@@jasonyoung7705 a chord technically need 3 notes. A power “chord” is actually a power Dyad.
Great lesson. It's amazing how clear the chord patterns are, due to your use of color in the diagrams. The pattern really jumps out at you.
Glad you like it! Yes the color coding is great for note / chord recognition.
Great to hear those subtle but essential differences, more importantly the construction of those triads gives us all the tools to master the positioning of the chord (guitarists in particular).
Absolutely!
Thanks for this
No problem
This guy knew what he was doing
when the chord is sus 😳
Excellent video! I've never seen it explained this well on any channel ever
Thank you!
the Gsus chord is the most Holy of all chords
This channel is awesome! Straight to the point and very informative. I am already learning a lot!
Thanks for the kind comment, I'm glad the channel helps you!
The sus4 played reminded me of the first chord on Summer Skin, from Death Cab for Cutie.
These chords would make a song pretty sus
This channel is music Gold !!!
Thank you!
i was looking for suspended chords and this video poped up. How lucky i am, nice vid!
Lucky you! Thanks for watching.
What is God's favourite chord?
Gsus!
Very good!
Gsus saves bro
This video has "Sus" written all over
great lesson and demonstrations
Thank you!
Thanks!
You're very welcome! Thank you so much for the Super Thanks!
Great lesson! IMHO it's very good idea that you consequently uses the same key of C in your examples of eg. chords, so it makes very easy to compare the structure of many different chords as far as intervals/notes are concerned.
Thanks, glad it was helpful!
Thanks.. very helpful

Awesome lesson! New suscriber here! I'm learning music theory in my city to grow up like music producer and I'm watching a long but itneresting creative way!
Thanks for the sub, good luck with your music!
When first learning guitar, this was the first progression I could recognize that sounded good. I didnt know what it was until I looked it up.
My mind immediately went to ‘Love Reign O’er Me’ - The Who
Will join when I can afford to do so, than you, great explanations.
Awesome, thank you!
It's intresthing lesson .
Thanks!
Here is an interesting fact: sus4 on I is the same chord (or same structure) as sus2 on IV. Try playing it and changing just the bass (root) note (from I to IV)... ;)
beautiful teaching so passionate love from bangladesh
Thank you
once I learned about the sus4 and sus2 chords while I was starting out, it became a habit for me to sprinkle those chords lmao
now sus amogus
Bruce Springsteen's "Brilliant Disguise" is a great example of the full utilization of the sus chords. The verse section is simply a modulation of "Major -> sus2 -> sus4 -> Major". In this instance
A maj -> A sus2 -> A sus4 -> A maj
CORRECTO
Great song too
Great song, too bad he turned out to be such a POS !
Merci
You're welcome
when the chords are sussy
Haha sus (good video btw)
Thanks 😅
4:12 Just game me powerful Wesley Willis flashbacks.
I always think 'suspended' is a mysterious term, when we 'substitute' one note for the other.
Superb, got a lot of clarity 🥰🥰
Thanks, glad it helped!
muito legal
The program you use makes the IV chord sus#4 not 4 that's why it sounds tense since #4 is tritone. It would sound smooth if it had used sus 4 instead of #4.
Very good and clearly presented lesson. How do I use sus2 chords?
Thanks! sus2 is at the end of the video from 10:35 onwards.
Good vid, now u know how to make drill music😈
came to this video for the comment section. was not disappointed
Nice vid btw if u make another vid like this can u like show us bc I have hard time on the piano
Thanks for the comment.
The goal of this channel is music theory, not instrument lessons so you will have to find piano help elsewhere.
I blame A M O G U S for never being able to look at sus chords the same again
Suspended Chords - What They Are & How To Use Them but every "sus" has a vine boom
Csus2 tuning is cool!! CGCGCD
Excellent video! Now I understand why so many songs sound so cheesy, dull, shallow, annoying. E.g. progression IV, V sounds awfull, IVsus4, IV - detto, Vsus4, V - debilitating
*A M O G U S*
Do you have to replace the third? Because on guitar, a regular C major chord has two E notes. Would you just make the first E down to a D and then just make the high E a G for a Csus2? Same idea with Csus4?
Edit: I assume if you keep the third in the chord, then it's not suspended, and it's just a C2 or C4. Is this correct?
Yes that would make an open position Csus2 on guitar.
If you keep the 3rd in and add the second note it is often called an add9 chord. There's more info on that here: ua-cam.com/video/n7wxfmMjFmU/v-deo.html
@@WriteASong Ohhhh I get it now! Suspended chords do not have a third, add9's do. Thank you!
Jesus ! These chords are beautiful
*Gsus
AMUNGOS
The true sussiness comes from them being one chord & its inversion pretending to be two chords
the people who make the music for Among Us better take notes
I need to see it on the guitar. Cause I play be ear and visual placement ,,
When the chord is sus
So sus2 is kinda similar with 9th chord right?
Yes that is correct.
What is the difference between a Fsus2 chord and a F2 chord?
From what I can see they are the same chord, it's just a notation difference.
From what I know, if it was an Fsus2 for example, I add the 2nd note and not the 3rd note(giving F-G-C) Whereas in F2, I add both 2nd and 3rd(giving F-G-A-C). I may be wrong so do correct me
@@Bitesdedust2 I would call that a Fadd9, but there may well be more than one way to describe the same thing!
@@WriteASong ahh!! Yes the add I completely forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder :))

When the music teacher is sus
I played these and my guitar vented.

looping through all of the triad qualities between sus4 and sus2 in a loop sounds pretty cool
Csus4-C-Cm-Csus2
it could also be interpreted as:
Fsus2/C-C-Cm-Gsus4/C
Also since when did Hookpad have a dark mode?
also great video! definitely the kind of thing i'll recommend to people who want to learn more about theory!
Thanks for watching & recommending! I think the dark mode for Hookpad was released earlier this year, at least that's when I noticed it and put it in videos.
same chord inverted Csus2 is the same as Gsus4. a G C and D.
😳
Somehow it sounds like ABBA songs
Why no sus#4 included like Fsus#4 in major scale and also susb2 (even if it's unstable) like Esusb2
I will try to include them in a future video
i enjoy music a lot, i make it in fact
but

It would be more interesting if you gave the shape of the chords in a guitar or keyboards. Thanks for the video.

I don't do instrument specific content, but there is plenty of that on other channels.
