I have tried your guitars and was able to compare it to a couple of Martins that were on the wall. The tone was better and I felt it had more resonance. Unfortunately all the USA builds were out of my price range. Ended up buying an Eastman E3D.

I watched the video of you building a Morrison Guitar loved every thing I saw Morrison Guitars are truly Hand Made. What beautiful guitars and sounding guitar. I wished I’d known of this company back in 2010 before I bought my d45 Martin. Your guitars with your pickups sound so much better. I enjoyed the video tremendously. I’d love to stop by and visit your store but I live in Michigan. Have a great day

I agree with everything you are saying. People get seduced by the label on the headstock, pretty aesthetics (bling, fancy woods), and BS claims (V-class bracing improves intonation).
Of course quality tonewoods make a difference if they are voiced by some who know what they are doing, but great tonewoods can also sound bland if not voiced well!
It sounds like the consignment guitar is a Taylor builder’s edition with that hideous expression system pickup.
I bought a Walden G630CE that was under $700 that is better than many Taylor’s and my Furch Yellow Master’s Choice blows most, if not all, Taylor’s out of the water and it was less than 3K and is boutique quality!
The guitar you are playing in this video sounds balanced and rich, well done!

Gosh, ...at the end, ...you strumming is so under control. You have a giant super strong right hand. You are a GREAT rhythm guitar player with a very expensive right hand.

Your 100% correct about the cost of guitars, Sometimes you can get a $1000 guitar sound better than a $5000 guitar. Sometimes your just paying for the NAME. Let your ears and heart choose the guitar that suites you best. Doing a blind fold test can be a real eye opener for this.

Great job on the playing at the first of the video, but that guitar is a smaller than a normal large dreadnought acoustic guitar, and it is a different type of animal altogether. ...almost like a parlor type guitar. It has such incredible focus, like you playing with a capo, and it sounds great, but ... for me, I like a bigger acoustic. I like to strum really hard on a guitar like that. For me, I like a Taylor 810D or such. Big, strong, clear, and that can take my extremely hard strumming with a heavy pick. Having said that, I would like a guitar like this Morrison for a small room with hardwood floors, or just my living room. It would be nice to have a smaller, more playable, more focused guitar. But you are playing with giant strings, like 12's and I think they suck. It is just too much metal to move around. Don't be ashamed to bring that down to 10's, and stop working so hard.
