That's where my cousin is buried. In 2003 she was killed in a car accident. She was an organ donor and saved 5 lives. Her mom who passed years later is buried there with her ❤

What a beautiful resting place for all those lost souls. The detail shown in the monuments, headstones, mausoleums and statues is absolutely fascinating. I didn't see the episode of the boy in the boat but if little Gracie's statue is anything to go by, it must have been outstanding. Coming from over the pond, I love the attention to detail, not only in the memorials but also in the landscaping of the cemeteries, they are truly amazing. You Americans really know how to look after your departed.

One of the most serene, beautiful, and well maintained cemeteries I've seen. I can appreciate all the beautiful artwork. Some cemeteries are so sad, unkept, to the point of creepy. Thank you for sharing this one.

Oh wow, this is a very big and beautiful cemetery. A person could walk for several days just looking at the beautiful architecture of the gravestones and mausoleum’s, so amazing… That has to be such a calm and relaxing walk… Walking around through cemeteries relaxes me, calms my nerves, it’s peaceful listening to the birds, the wind, and enjoying the walk…
Loved today’s video Ron, you seemed to be very relaxed while enjoying the view…
As always, stay safe out there.🙂💟

This is one beautiful cemetery. So many monuments, gateposts, private mausoleums that are so ornate! Those little beds just... One can feel the loss of such brief lives more acutely, even now.
I was trying to guess what the various headstones and monuments were made of, because it looks like different types were used. Obviously, granite, marble...
Have you come across many cemeteries in New England that have that sort of terracing with retaining walls up hillsides? I wonder how common they are in cemeteries in New England?
Those little houses and buildings towards the end...I LOVE those! I’m a huge miniature lover and one of my main hobbies is 3D modeling (I use software). Was this decorative, or a memorial? Whichever one they are, they are incredible! There seems to be a sort of whimsical style to a lot of the cemetery along with other styles, such as gothic. Kind of a polyglot that somehow works for the entire cemetery.
Boy, am I glad I have a bunch of ancestors in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut...because it will make the research I’m going to be doing on this cemetery a lot more fun!

Ron you take time to present these incredible highly unusual headstones , the statue of Gracie took my breathe away , the detail how sad that she died at 5 heartbreaking for her parents I’m sure , the empty beds of children shown in great detail , what sorrow , what disease went thru this town back in the 1800 hundreds -Ron thank you for the presentation , the photography , the beautiful music , the videos are so well done does touch one’s heart of once was……children who passed away adults who died ……. They lived once so long ago.

I love the beauty of mausoleums with their ornate doors and beautiful stained glass . Very interesting and pleasing walk through. The bells in the back ground lent a perfect touch especially with the death of Queen Elizabeth today. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤

Thanks Ron for adding the classical music and Little Jimmy to this show. You’re a class act and go the extra mile to make your showings special. So much beauty in this cemetery. I want S. H. Morse to make a statue for me. Oh wait! He’s gone now. But certainly not forgotten.

  • @hh7407

Such a beautiful castle like structure. Wow. I love the way you started by showing this scenery.
Lil Jimmy flying across the lake and up over the trees was so uplifting. I felt like I was flying. So cool.
So pretty how you faded in the cemetery monuments. Beautiful sunshine filtering through and the shadows and layers of monuments. That sunshine has a magical look to it.....a lot like that time when you were walking and telling, "The Soldier Who Blindly Staggered On, Jacob Miller, A Civil War Survival Story."
1:41 What a sweet and lovely statue. She looks so real with all the details and folds in the fabric, the four bows, the waves in her hair, and most especially her little shoes with buttons!! I love it. This sculptor was so talented. She looks like she could come to life. What an honor to have him do a sculpture to preserve her memory. I'm so glad she is protected with the glass case so that many generations later, we can all admire his artistry and her sweet presence. 💖
    4:03 Beautiful monuments.
4:09 Oh my goodness! The empty child's bed. Your description really does explain what the family and the sculptor was expressing. It definitely is showing a child died/left in the night. The pillow on the ground and the covers pulled back,...really hits me in the feels. 😢
5:09 Made me gasp. So sad there are several children's beds. These really do cut deep don't they. Sweet and beautiful but so sad and empty. Again...right in the feels.
5:51 Such a beautiful monument to the heroes...the firemen. I am so glad you covered more of this cemetery. It is extra special with the unique monuments that we would never have gotten to know about or see.
6:51 Beautiful family plot. Each is so unique and detailed.
8:31 More unique stones and I really like how detailed they are and ornate.
9:02, 9:17, 9:43 Pretty statues and monuments. I looove the music you chose, very Heavenish. Happy tears flowing it is so pretty.
    10:36 Beautiful architecture.
11:14 The churches in Vicksburg, MS, have these type covers over the church stain glass windows downtown to protect them from fading and being broken by vandals or hail. I always hate the dinge they get on them but they do serve their purpose.
12:44 Church bells are so nice. Beautiful architecture. The filtered sunlight is so beautiful coming through the trees here and there throughout the cemetery.
I love the lion on the heavy iron door. I have lions at my entrances at my house as well as here and there inside my house. I love what they symbolize (might, strength, courage, majesty, justice).
15:14 This is my new favorite music. I cannot describe how beautiful it is. Very powerful.
16:09 Beautiful cross and vantage point. This is my new favorite production. Gosh there are so many productions I love but this cemetery is really amazing and you capture it beautifully.
16:38, 17:02, 19:03 Beautiful. Everywhere you look, something unique and lovely.
19:42 I like the style of lettering on this stone.
19:59 The church bells are so nice to hear.
23:54 Oh neat!! How did you even see those?! They are so cute. 24:32 Is so pretty sortof like the painting, "The House by the Railroad" by Edward Hopper.
26:00 Wow. Beautiful door. The bells are so lovely ringing throughout the cemetery.
26:10 My front door doorbell is this chime sound. 🤗
26:30 Beautiful with those Ionic columns on both of these two mausoleums.
All the mausoleums are so pretty nestled into the hillside.
28:29 Very ornate. I love gothic architecture. This gothic mausoleum has to be my favorite.
29:02 Guarded by its very own hornet's nest!! You did all the right things...you moved slowly, calmly, talked in a soft tone, ignored them. That makes the hornets see you are not a threat and they like thinking you didn't even notice them. Very good!
29:55 💖 🎵🎶💖 The music is magical. This video....I'm showing it to my Mom. She will love it, too! Outstanding Ron! You are such a beautiful person inside and out. Many blessings to you for all you do. Your music selection is beautiful.

Have you ever been to SanFranciso Ron? I just watched a video of a little girl named Edith Howard Cook. She died in1876. When her whole family was moved from Odd Fellows cemetery she was forgotten and a home built on top of her. Then when doing remodeling last year they found her perfectly preserved. She was returned with her family after 11 months of calling g her Eve. She was truly lost and forgotten...but now found

Mum passed away peacefully on January 29th 2021 at 97 and 4 months. If you are British and reach your 100th Birthday you would get a letter from the Queen. I thought Mum would make it to 100 and get a letter and I thought her Majesty the Queen would be 101. So odd she passed on Mum, Margaret's Birthday. God bless.

Please please please tell me you went to Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge Massachusetts while you were in the Boston area. It was actually one of the first "Garden Cemeteries" first established in the 1800's (?) Before that there were basically "grave yards" or "bone yards" (just markers in rows) Mount Auburn was the first to incorporate land scaping and "natural" features such as ponds etc to give the cemetery a more natural beautiful feel. Also one of the first to feature the sculptural markers. People would visit the cemetery just to admire the statues, plants, etc.

Very interesting, babyjenks1784. It is my understanding that cemeteries were the first "parks" and "pinic grounds" in a lot of cities. Creepy as it may sound today, it makes sense. The water features, trees, grass and general engineering of landscapes must have been a true relief from the crowding and filth of a lot of major city's heavily-populated areas. I think Mount Auburn and Forest Hills may well have been designed with this in mind. I like the fact that Ron did a closing drone shot showing Forest Hills' proximity to the coast and downtown Boston. That proximity makes me think "park/picnic ground".

@@paulrickson9796 yes that is very true! Even today at Mount Auburn they have bird watching tours. People visit for more than just visiting graves

What an amazing tour,Ron;beautiful cemetery. At the conclusion I noticed a hornet nest on the column on the left of the entrance to the Chadwick mausoleum @ 29:45.It blended in well with the architecture.

Wow! What a fantastic cemetery! It's almost like a park with it's serenity. The statues are gorgeous! Love those little houses toward the end of the video. They remind me of little fairy houses.

I grew up a few miles from this cemetery and have driven by it so many times and wish I had known how beautiful it was. Hopefully I will be able to visit it soon.

Gracie's statue is beautiful. I immediately thought it may have been carved by the same sculptor for the Boy in the Boat. Those bed graves are very hauntingly sad. Remarkably beautiful cemetery there.

Thos is a beautiful cemetery. I used to walk it all the time. Sometimes there are artist installments scattered throughout. Taught my son to drive in there ! Thank you for showing inside some of the mausoleums, I've always been too afraid to walk up to the doors and look in ! The Scott Baldwin one is by far one of my favorites. Great job !!

Gracie is just beautiful and yet so sad. The little beds were another sad reminder of young lives that were cut short.
