Gosh, I really really would love to sit at those table Zipperon! It always looks like a fantastic time! Thank you for your service, sir!
Why thank you - but it's not always perfect. Look out for a vid about some difficulties I had last session ❤️
@@ZipperonDisney where do you get that table
I think the random dice method works great for caverns which in real life have no real rhyme or reason!
Unrelated. What tips do you have for developing a world map? Not population centers; but things like continents, major bodies of water, islands, etc. Thank you for the great work!
Throw that on my AMA stream Sunday!
@@ZipperonDisney Will do
And I love the idea of using dices to create things like this
This seems like it could almost be a game in itself.
Love the video as always!! Would love to see a video on you showing how to draw city maps!
It's on my list! I'm working on getting a good method down
You always make it so absolutely and unbearably easy. Dx I guess I have no sense of direction with trying this manner. XD
Took me a few practice rounds before I filmed it - just do what feels fun to you!
@@ZipperonDisney alright. Thanks much! I'm running my first campaign, so I'm horribly inexperienced and nervous, especially with two people being DMs for years. ^^'
@@FirstDarkAngel2001 how is it going?
I love this so much. I say it a lot, but this is my FAVORITE way to build maps!!
I'm loving this method it completely sidesteps my tendency to get bogged down in the details. Now I just do what the dice say.
bro this cavern is sick......your dice maps have changed my world bro all these videos are so great......and before i watched these prepping was so annoying.....keep making these their amazing
Wait is that a dry erase mat!? That is so cool
Chessex Mega Mat, link in the description ❤️
I love these!! Every time you do them I have to stop and watch how the map turns out
Thank you! 😁
Okay, I have to admit that this is one of the coolest ideas ever.
Glad you liked it 👍
Well done. I’ve never played but it seems cool
You could start DMing 😈
"Do a little smearing and hatching"
*literally the next frame with everything filled out and detailed looking like a professional black and white map*
Me: Oh... ok
It's just that I've covered how to do it in depth in other vids 😅
@@ZipperonDisney Aw lul I know how to do all that stuff I just thought it was funny cause it's my first time seein ya
I misunderstood the title and thought you were gonna be like, stacking a ton of dice into the shape of a cave. This seems more doable.
Found your videos yesterday, but already incorporating your methods. Thank you so much
i suck at making caverns or dungeons so this can be helpfull
The random dungeon videos are so great
I love that you use hexmats btw. Very underrated.
I have that same dice bag!!
I don't even remember if the wiksky was good but I saw the bag and immediately saw a perfect dice bag.
You know it blows my mind that a previous video implies he does this on wrapping paper.
Universal human response of ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Love it will try it
Very nice
Thank you 😊
Add a set for stalagmites and stalactites, they make for good hazards and cover
yo! That's a GREAT idea!!!
@@ZipperonDisney you could even have it so that rolls closer to one and 20 are smaller stalactites and stalagmites, while 10 and 11 or the largest of each
Not gonna lie this is some really cool stuff! I love this idea!
😎 🤙 glad you like it
that’s cool
lol i use crown royal bags too!
That looked amazing!
This is really cool👍
That's pretty cool!also was that just a marker mat or was it in the table?
Very cool!
That was dope and easy
You are the best!
Really cool video! I really like the hexagon pattern on your board. Where did you get that?
Hey I'm trying to make a Dungeon that is an old Dwarven forage and the players need to go into it and reset the fires of the forages but just can't make a map. Do you have any tips?
Drop this on my AMA stream tomorrow
THESE ARE SO COOOOOL!!!
Sadly I can’t dm
I am curious. What is your dice key? Like what dice and numbers decide cave, monster, treasure, hazard, river, etc that you use here so I can have a general idea of configuring my setup and adjusting for my needs.
I need that hex paper! Hook me up
Where did you get that table it looks super convenient for rolling dice and playing dnd
Gotta have those different coloured dice ;-;
clicked this vid because we have the same dice bag
Chido 👍
do you think you can do something like this but with graph paper
100 yes you can
What kind of table do you have? I've been thinking of getting a pool table but yours looks like an even better pick
Where does one find a mat like that.
Chessex Mega Mat, link in the description ❤️
noiiiceeee... where can i buy this board?
Link in the description ❤️
What game mats do you use?
I really do enjoy this creative method, but, due to my recent desire to attempt making a vertical map, how would you use your dice tossing method to make a vertical town/dungeon/map?
What do mean by vertical map?
@@ZipperonDisney The closest example I can give off the top of my head is putting the party in a situation where there’s rock climbing. Where the terrain is literally or extremely close to being vertical. I wanted to build a map like this and see how combat would play out, since there’s movements, abilities, spells, or gear that actively allow for vertical combat, such as climbing speed, spider climbing, fly, climbing gear, etc.
I always wonder what markers you can use for these. I’ve really wanted to do this, but I don’t want to plague my board with something that doesn’t come off.
Expo vis a vis wet erase pens
too bad the heroquest kickstarter failed. using the hex from that game. you could make the shallowest parts the highest hexes. and the deepest be the lowest..giving that elevation.
Seems you prefer hexes to grids. Any particular reason?
Diagonal movement
How many in/cm is one side of a hexagon on your maps?
Where did you get your table or did you make it yourself
Can you link where you get your playmats?
In the description
I have a mat just like yours but when I draw on it and erase it there is always a faint outline off what was there before. Are you using just normal markers?
vis a vis expo brand wet erase makers. Cold water, then re-drawing over the marked section, cold water with a drop of high concentration detergent if that fails, then toothpaste if that fails. But cold water and elbow grease work best.
Where can I get a good mat/tabletop like that?
There is a link in the description
what paper is this??
Where does he get those papers for D&D
cheesex battle mat
I know this may be nerdy ss shit, but it's not s cavern after 50 feet of darkness. That's a cave. Cave and cavern exploration both on foot and in diving make this distinction as caves are far more dangerous thane caverns.
I'm starting to feel like hexes are better than squares for drawing, am I crazy?
Where do you get these mats
cheeses mega mat, link in the description
What scale do you use
Depends, sometimes 5ft per hex, sometimes 15
Name of board you are using)
