Hi there! I'm a bit of an aviation enthusiast and I'm curious as to why you went with two blade propellers instead of the three blade which is the correct design? BTW I flew on an Eastern Airlines "Connie" in 1956 and was terrified of its awesome power. Loved the slow motion effect as it made the plane look like a Hollywood movie.
My late best friend's Mother, "Amber Rigby" worked at Burbank for Lockheed and had many interesting stories concerning her job. At first, her job was installing the nose cones on P-38 Lightning's. Then, as the war neared closure, she was put to work on Connies. I forget what it was but she was told not to do something that needed done on one and she said: "If I don't do that, the entire tail section will come off upon landing." "No..." she was told; "It'll be all right." Well, according to her, the entire tail section did fall off upon landing. Can any Aviation Historian back her story up? She wasn't known to lie. She died about 7 years ago at age 97.
In 1957, when I was 13, I flew with my parents on a N.W. Orient Airlines Constellation from Seattle to Honolulu. Stewardesses handed out small packs (containing 6 smokes) of free promotional cigarettes-Pall Mall, as I recall. Someone recorded our flight on the plane with a couple of black-and-white Polaroid photos. And since everyone dressed up for such a memorable trip, we all looked terrific. Regular-class seats were wonderfully spacious.
I was 10 and emigrating to 🇨🇦 from 🇱🇺. First leg, KLM, A'Dam to Idlewild NY. They gave me a die cast model of the plane which I treasured. I'll never forget the moonlight shining on the wing and wing tip tank, while the whole wing flexed. Mesmerizing.
Hmmm..... You be 78 now? Other than people now wearing casual dress and displaying poor manners, not much has changed flying from KSEA to KHNL. It still takes 6 hours and you still sit in a pressurized aluminum tube with 200 of your closest traveling companions.
Still one of the most elegant aircraft in it's civilian livery to have flown. Wonderful to see it fly even at 1/6 scale, celebrating the end of an era in piston engine commercial flight. Living history.
Now that's a "Connie" that deserves a big hug! What a beauty. What a thrill to watch. The hours of work and the patience and attention to detail! Amazing. The men and women that build these amazing pieces of art and history deserve an applause ! Well done! Thank you!
I'm 67 years old and this brings back so many memories. My dad would take me to Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks CT. and we would sit on the hood of his car watching planes arrive and depart. There was nothing like watching the "Connie" fire up those multi-radial engines. Smoke would fill the air and you would feel the air blast. The only barrier separating us from the aircraft was a 4 foot high "hurricane fence", you have to be my age to remember those. They were basically sticks with some wire. Those were the days.
My dad was an air traffic controller in houston. First at hobby and then intercontinental. We would watch airplanes at night all the time at hobby. Fun times.
This has got to be one of the most beautiful model planes ever built and excellent flying, as well. I wish someone would make three and four blade props for these models to give them absolute realism and performance. Obviously it has wet wings, would love to see the fueling operation. Thanks for posting.
The Lockeed Constellation really influenced me to become an airline pilot when I was young. My dad would take me to KC Municipal airport to watch airplanes and the TWA Connies were the major attraction. I was very enamored with the Connie. Later in life I became friends with several men that flew the Connie. Great stories. Beautiful model. I can't imagine the hours of hard work to build it. Thanks for the video.
I started traveling in 1961 in jets like the B-707 and the DC-8, but once, when boarding a Pan Am jet in Rome, I spotted a white, beautiful TWA Super-Connie Starliner parked on the apron, and I was impressed by its beauty, its sleekness - and its wingtip tanks, which made her capable of flying USA-Italy non-stop.... Congratulations for your model, which reminded me of the Starliner I saw in Rome.
Used to love seeing the Qantas Super Connies fly over our house on their way into Sydney when I was a kid. The most beautiful airliner ever built, in my humble opinion. Thanks for a great video!
No, you are not. But its not just opinion, its fact. The "Connie" was without doubt the sexiest plane ever built. Unlike modern airliners that are basically constant diameter tubes, the Connie had a sculpted body, with not a single adjoining rib that was the same diameter as the next. This gave her a very lithe shape that no current airliner can match. Its not just your imagination, she had a body to kill for.
Amazing plane,... and it brought back some vivid memories. Out family flew to Majorca in a Constellation when I was just 6 years old, that was in 1963. My dad let me have the window seat. It was tremendously loud, but flying just above the clouds was like flying over a winter wonderland.
Amazing!! When I was a child my father worked for TWA in NYC. Dad used to take me across the US in the "Super G Connie" about every 6 months to see relatives. Seeing your Bird, all its attention to detail brought back many good memories.
Great video. In 1960 I was a passenger in one of these from Trenton, NJ to Madrid Spain. It was 18 hours non stop. I will never forget it. Thank you gentlemen for your video.
What a majestic flyer. As a boy in the 50s I remember the Super Connies taking off and landing at the old Orlando airport near where we lived. I have always felt the Connies were the most beautiful airliner ever built.
WOW..¡ Am so speechless and with my mouth open and drooling, this is so beautiful and Amazing..¡ Thanks for upload it, greetings from Anchorage, Alaska, The United States of America.
This is also America!! Man will always be boys with toys ..Stayiung young hearted.Great fun to look at what an achievement..great balance! Greetings from Holland!!
Magnificent video! Having all those four engines synchronized is no small feat by itself. Only way to have the model flyable anyway. Again, great to watch...
BRAVO TWA !! What a SHOW !! My hat off to the builders /owners of this MAGNIFICENT model aircraft. Masterpiece in flying technology. " MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ! "
Incredible, just incredible - stunning sight, brilliant flying. This beautiful thing would be a true gem to land if there were just a hint of a headwind, and not a crosswind like that day. Very well done!!
LE PLUS BEL AVION A HELICES JAMAIS CONSTRUIT ! Merci à Lockheed. Et tout le monde est d'accord !!! The most beautiful plane has helix ever built! Thanks to Lockheed. And everyone is ok !!!
My first trip across the Atlantic was in a prop driven Constellation, owned by Tiger Lines, with the snarly face painted on the front. It took many hours.
Wow you are lucky to have experienced that, if I may ask, what year was it and any other things you remember? I am nostalgic for the era of the Constellation; it seems like in many ways America was a nicer place (not in all ways of course) and I love to hear people talk about these type of experiences. Congrats and thx for the post.
It was late in 71, I can't remember if it had 3 bladed props or 4 bladed props. (but it didn't have 2 bladed props) It had been converted into a cargo plane and troop transport. There were no seats except for the pilots. In the back there was a hard fold down bench on each side that ran the entire length of the cargo bay, but no seat belts. It did have cargo netting on the wall you could hang onto. Yeah the ride was lots of fun.
It was 9 hours of sitting on a bench and listening to the engines drone, occasionally being bounced around by turbulence. But we made it. I could not make that trip today, my ass is to bony. LOL
I was in one of these MATS Super Constellations, nonstop from Hickam AFB, HI to Moffet Feild, CA in only 18 hours. This was way back in the early 1960's.
Excellent model of a legendary plane and very nicely flown. As an RCer, I can just imagine the effort and dedication that you put into this. Well done!
In 1964 I flew from NY to London on this beauty. It took 18 hours because you flew to Gander, Newfoundland, to refuel and then left for Shannon, Ireland for more fuel, and on to London. That was a different world.
thats beautiful How u fellows have Paid Respect. to TWA. And That She. was looking Good. Flying. Thanks for the joy. Job Really. Really. Well Done Folks.
Wow. This is so cool! It is just like the real thing; shakey and rattlely and loud as hell (inside). When I was a kid this was the coolest airplane you could imagine and I rode in one finally. What a shock but I am so glad I did. This RC model is fabulous!!!
Congratulations to the builder and flyer of this magnificent model . Coincidentally I see this was filmed at Cosford , my old local airfield when I lived in the UK , now we have the only airworthy Super Connie in the World housed at my new local airfield here in Australia , and a magnificent model that is too .

Probably doesn't want to put marks on his immaculate spinners. I don't care that much, and have smudges on the spinners of all of my gassers to show for it.
Wow, this is SOO cool! A flying replica of one of the most beautiful airplanes I know, and the landing gear is retractile (especially that is new for me on radio controlled models)!
I well recall coming to America on the real one of these. Blew both left main tires landing at Lockerby for fuel, before the last leg to the States. Wasn't entirely a bad 3 hour delay, spent mostly at a pub.
Great to see modelled *two* of my favourite airliners on the ramp - the Super Constellation, and just behind, the Vickers VC10. Liked the flight of the Constellation - demonstrating a very well-finished machine.
Magnificent! Super achievement! And was it an optical illusion, or were some of the props not spinning consistently? No matter, was a wonderful flight and landing!👏👏

I like the stunt plane photobombing this video at the beginning!

Super Connie was one of my favorite airplanes. This RC model looks like the real thing in flight. Absolutely beautiful!
I get a kick out of the critics in the comment section. 99.99% of them couldn’t do what these guys have done. What a phenomenal plane!
I LOVE THE SLOW MOTION PART OF THE VIDEO, IT LOOKS LIKE THE REAL THING WITH SCALE SPEED. BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ART AND EXCELLENT FLYING !!
Wow. I love that the engines are gas powered! Nice touch. No cutting corners with electric!
Yeah screw the enivronment thats "cutting corners" who cares about earth we can just buy a new one har har har
"cutting corners"
@@ye9018 "about earth we can just buy a new one" Exactly! I have one just across the hall.
What a terrific example of advanced aero modeling. A beautiful airplane expertly flown. Bravo!!
I love when it's way up there and you can still hear it. Sounds just like a real one. Beautiful
The two stroke 4x1piston sound?
The original has 72 four stroke cylinders.
Tears to my eyes! To see a great "Connie" come alive again.
Just beautiful! The Connie was one of the most gorgeous airplanes ever made. Good show! Cheers!!!
Gorgeous aircraft, and the best videography I've seen in years. The cameraman should be applauded. Well done gentlemen.
Thanks Mike. Appreciate the feedback. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
A beautiful bird for sure! And the pilot and camera work equally perfect!
Used to love seeing the Qantas Super Connies fly over our house on their way into Sydney when I was a kid. The most beautiful airliner ever built, in my humble opinion. Thanks for a great video!
Am I the only one who thinks airplanes from that era were just more beautiful than they are now?
No, you are not. But its not just opinion, its fact. The "Connie" was without doubt the sexiest plane ever built. Unlike modern airliners that are basically constant diameter tubes, the Connie had a sculpted body, with not a single adjoining rib that was the same diameter as the next. The Connie was a beauty.
UNFORTUNATELY DALEK YES !
Yes, you are the only one.
They had DESIGNERS back then not aerodynamic flight engenders. < NOT spelled wrong. Cost per fly became the rule !
I love to see the history of aviation preserved with R/C aircraft. Beautiful work.
The legend has it that he is still spinning that propeler! XD
Nejkocookie11 Lolol that was funny!
Com on you SOB start, 😠
...watch again...with patience .!!!
Is anyone else thinking “cordless drill”?
dat landing gear should retract. extremely dissapointing.
Amazing plane,... and it brought back some vivid memories. Out family flew to Majorca in a Constellation when I was just 6 years old, that was in 1963. My dad let me have the window seat. It was tremendously loud, but flying just above the clouds was like flying over a winter wonderland.
Always loved the Super Constellations from TWA. They used to fly right over our house on their way north.
TWA used the Connie on all of its flights from New York to London's Heathrow Airport.
I think we all have to agree..no one builts a more beautiful plane than Lockheed
Amazing!! When I was a child my father worked for TWA in NYC. Dad used to take me across the US in the "Super G Connie" about every 6 months to see relatives. Seeing your Bird, all its attention to detail brought back many good memories.
Good to hear Fred. Well worth publishing the video if it does that for you! Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
This is an example of a pro pilot who worked his way up to being able to fly something like this. Outstanding.
I am impressed that at their age they have something productive to engage in. It makes life worthwhile at old age!
That's awesome! Can't wait to show this to my 86 yo dad who flew on the military version of these during the Korean war.
My dad was in the Korean war. Stationed in Japan as an air traffic controller.
A beautiful aircraft model. Well done. Flew on a Connie when I was a kid. What a great memory after seeing this plane fly.
Simply stunning! Wonderful in all areas...thank you very much!
Great video. In 1960 I was a passenger in one of these from Trenton, NJ to Madrid Spain. It was 18 hours non stop. I will never forget it. Thank you gentlemen for your video.
HATS off to the cameraman & the HD camera itself, well done guys great vid
Nice start up..taxi..take off...flight and landing...model is a credit to you...watched with a big smile on my face...thank you for video...
This is my all time favorite & most beautiful aircraft ever built
These shows are really worth going to. Went to one at age 10, still remember it.
I went on board a EC-121 on it's way to the boneyard, what a beautiful aircraft it was.
What a majestic flyer. As a boy in the 50s I remember the Super Connies taking off and landing at the old Orlando airport near where we lived. I have always felt the Connies were the most beautiful airliner ever built.

A model of THE most beautiful plane EVER!
But I didn't see any Spitfire in that video, was it behind that flying white banana?
It's an impressive model of Connie, very realistic. It looks like it flys great. Beautiful model.
Magnificent video!
Having all those four engines synchronized is no small feat by itself.
Only way to have the model flyable anyway.
Again, great to watch...
Thanks for the feedback. I enjoyed filming this one. Awesome model. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
Spectacular! I flew in a Constellation in 1966. They were beautiful planes.
One of those Connie's flew me to my first duty station, great aircraft
What a gorgeous airplane that was. The true romance of flight. Plus - real Stewardesses!
Wow! Just like the real thing,The Connie is the most beautiful rc I have ever seen.Job well done.
Da werden Kindheitserinnerungen wach ich habe das Flugzeug noch life erlebt. Tolles Model und super geflogen. Glg Rainer aus Bayern
It is very very beautiful, who built it has the ability and passion for this masterpiece
BRAVO TWA !! What a SHOW !! My hat off to the builders /owners of this MAGNIFICENT model aircraft. Masterpiece in flying technology. " MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ! "
Most gorgeous airplane ever!
Taxiing on the field is more interesting than the flight itself. Taxiing in the Parking lot is done perfectly. Bravo!
Incredible, just incredible - stunning sight, brilliant flying. This beautiful thing would be a true gem to land if there were just a hint of a headwind, and not a crosswind like that day.
Very well done!!

The most beautiful plane has helix ever built! Thanks to Lockheed. And everyone is ok !!!
This model even has the correct registration number of a real Connie, a 1959 1049H-82 (Save a Connie).
How cool is that!
Probably the most beautiful airplane ever built brought to life into a wonderful working model. My warmest congrats.
Awesome model and video...Oh one more thing...OUTSTANDING landing!
Fantastic !! And even has retracting landing gear, amazing workmanship.

Cool model reproduction! I half expected to see Howard Hughes shaking everyone's hand after a successful flight!!! 😄😄👍
Excellent model of a legendary plane and very nicely flown. As an RCer, I can just imagine the effort and dedication that you put into this. Well done!
That thing has to be a handful, and to see someone manage it and put it down like that is simply amazing.

Absolutely scrumptious,a work of art and patience..A truly memorable sight!!!! Thanks again,,Roy...
Love Connies! The most beautiful passenger liner.
The C 121 Constellation...what a majestic airplane it was.
I actually have flown in both versions. MAC and TWA. And seen the Navy ELINT version, the EC-121.
Nicest Constellation RC plane I've seen. Excellent camera work and landing!
FANTASTIC.!!!
The only thing that detracts this superb model, are the 2-bladed props.!!!
Should be
3-bladed, like the original.!!!!
A Rodrigues I thought something was off from all the pics i've seen of the original aircraft. Good eye

Those engines sound absolutely incredible. What a beautiful bird
Beautiful landing! A real pro

Thats awesome and thr camera man needs a trophy. Good work
I second that. Very nice job behind the camera.
As a former (accounting) employee of TWA, let me say it was great to see this airplane!
Beautiful plane. My Dad retired from TWA right before they went under.
There should be an easier way to get those engines started lol
Congratulations to the builder and flyer of this magnificent model . Coincidentally I see this was filmed at Cosford , my old local airfield when I lived in the UK , now we have the only airworthy Super Connie in the World housed at my new local airfield here in Australia , and a magnificent model that is too .
Even sounds like a real plane, PRETTY FREAKIN COOL!
It is a "real" plane, just not as big as the original. ;)
This blurs the lines between an R/C craft, and a small private airplane!
Great job, beautiful work!

nice slo-mo at end, gives it a touch of realism. I believe there is a full size flying Connie based on East coast of Australia, South of Sydney.
Wow i always love these rc planes never got a chance to oun or see them my child hood dream

I think Lockheed SUPER CONSTELLATION is the most beautiful airliner ever exist.
Smooth landing.
C-121 Constellation " ie the Connie" one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built.
~ 👍 Wow ... So big the cockpit could be highly detailed for show .
What an awesome plane. I was lucky enough to fly in one way back in 1965 from NY to FL.
Good lord, get that man an electric starter.
Probably doesn't want to put marks on his immaculate spinners. I don't care that much, and have smudges on the spinners of all of my gassers to show for it.
What I don’t understand is why are the engines so hard to start? It’s just a simple 2-stroke engine, it should start in one or two attempts
...and four 4-stroke engines. And a rectractable landing gear as well...
Good lord, get that man some sunscreen.
It's the only exercise he gets.
Very nice landing
My favorite older airliner of all time. Beautiful lines and appearance.
Magnificent! Super achievement! And was it an optical illusion, or were some of the props not spinning consistently? No matter, was a wonderful flight and landing!👏👏
