Thank you ,the most helpful video about this subject .my staffordshire bull terrier is from a very good blood line but was diagnosed with HD at the age of 4 months .
Hey..my dog has hip dysplasia. He is 8 months old and one doctor recomended tpo ( because of the weight-34 kg) and another femur rezection. What should i choose?
my dog is 15 yrs old saluki cross breed with sloping back arch part...what are my treatment options? currently we are giving it bonerise HD...i want to mention this...my dog suddenly developed this back part sloping low ground posture after it had siezures caused out of benign spleen mass..it survived surgery but after surgery also in same low hip posture..plzhelp advice..plz note: before seizures it never showed improper body posture...only after seizures it developed sloping back arch...still now also dog is active it climbs 3 floors up after refreshment walk outside daily once...we are confused how we shud treat it?
Thank you! I noticed my pups (lab mix sisters) were sitting like a frog and told the dr to check it out. Something was off so we scheduled a X-ray under sedation and surgery right after it positive. Sure enough they had it and had the juvenile version done.
Hi I was just with my vet today. I have a 8 month old boxer puppy not using the full range of his back legs when walking and often waddles. I first seen this months ago and had said to my last vet who paid no attention. So I thought great he must be fine. Thought maybe its growing pains. He was still waddling and today on his walk and I just had a feeling so brought him to the vet the vet seen him walk and said oh thats not good. So he said yes more than likely hip dysplasia. I thought a xray would be the next thing to go by but instead he had told me that 85% of german shepards are born with this and they grow out of it by 14 months so he did not recommend surgery. Instead is giving him a series of 4 injections over 4 weeks. Changing his diet and minimizing his exercise to see if it improves in the coming months before doing any surgery. Now my puppy does not seem to be in pain he does not slow down loves to run and play hes goes up and down stairs fine but his walk often looks like hes a guy that has just soiled himself. There is a slight arch in his spine i dont know if that is normal? This is my third vet the two veterinarians before said no hes fine but didnt pay much attention. From all the reading I have done I am thinking I over exercised him walks everyday frisbee, fetch, tug of war taught him tricks like beg hes a really smart puppy and I am worried I have done this potential damage any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I was so worried with my rotweiler puppy (12 week) puppy showing signs of Hip dysplasia, So happy to hear JPS surgery . Is there a suggestion where i can get it done in INDIA. Thanks - Riyadh
@@hariharanvenkatachalam3158 yes he is in good health.2years & 4 month 40kg gsd.we got him checked at specilalist he had early sign of HD with laxity of joints but now he is doing really great with no sign of HD & pain.
@@aniketmishra8617 I have a 8 month old GSD ,she got diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia. The Vet here just gave her some meds to relieve her from the pain .Said the pain would be there for lifelong.May ik what you did for your pet?
@@hariharanvenkatachalam3158 we had him on Beaphar hd tablet, fish oil & our vet checked the xray and it was near perfect so he explained us that how they grade hd & my dog has lowest level of it & he will improve with age as his muscle & ligament get stronger to support his loose joints. He had problem when he was a puppy but after a year he started improving & now he is no pain his gate while walking is little funny but as i mentioned earlier he is doing great so we are not adding anything unnecessary. For your dog i have a advice keep her weight in check & in long refrain from using pain med & use fish oil & other natural alternative, dont breed her & get an xray so the doctor can see how far hd has progressed.I think she will recover good if u keep this things in check
My puppy just did JPS xray and the DI around one hip is .4 and .43 for the other one, I really don't know if I should do the surgery as its on the lower range of spectrum , do you think I can reduce the chance by food and other factors?
