I totally agree,I took part in a phone in show on cable,Jane Rossington agreed Jill and Adam were treated badly in the new Crossroads. Take about not giving fans what they don't want,always felt the new versions of Crossroads looked down their nose at the old Crossroads.
If they ever bring Crossroads back again then it should be done properly. They should just pretend that the 2001 to 2003 shambles of a revamp didn't happen and just ignore it. Then relaunch it with Jill, Adam, Benny and a few other of the old characters and let it continue from where it left off in 1988 but 33 years later. Also actually film it here in Birmingham and surrounding areas just like the original series. They filmed the 2001 to 2003 Crossroads in Nottingham which was utterly crazy and made it look fake. Also bring back the Tony Hatch original theme and the Wings version for sad endings. I know the old Broad Street studios have long gone, but ITV could do it all on location in Birmingham by building a purpose built outdoor and indoor set that can be used as the hotel. BBC daytime soap Doctors have done this.
Why on earth did central bugger about with a TV classic that the nation either loved or hated but every talked about. It realy is a sad loss to TV and people alike. How dare they!
I come to England in 1974 for a 4 days London tourist vivid ___that was on a Sunday two days later I was to my surprise and excitement working in a hotel in Surrey __ evening staff dinner Crossoroad was on tv b/w _____that was my first English tv soap _ i liked it then even if not understanding a word and I like it now 2020 ____this country was wonderful ( or so it appeared to me ) in those days
Common...if there are any T.V Producers out there...Read this....Bring Crossroads back again..........Please.........I spent my life in Hotels and this is what it's really like.!!

The only reason i started to watch the new series is to see what they did with the original characters, i read that Jill had gone missing and had subsequently been found dead, so i gave up on the series. Soaps try and cater for the younger/teen audience far too much now, and talented older actors/characters wont be appreciated as much by target audiences such as that, Maybe Jane Rossington saw this and chose to leave...
Thank you for posting this. I missed it when it was first aired. Jill Harvey murdered? Who ever came up with that idea should have been sacked. It didnt grip me as a viewer, it just made me stop watching, same as I suppose it did when they wrote Meg out in the 80's.

They did kill meg off -off screen as it got mentioned in Jan 87 when Amy Turtle came back with Bomber

I loved her character in this show, always a bit vulnerable though. Jane is a fantastic character actress, and she still looks very attractive today.
