i played pretty much every playtest, and all this tiktok/instagram integration emojy share 4 follower anti skate culture shit killed it for me before it even came to a playable state, especially the fact that they implemented the "shop" button before they implemented some tricks...... fuck ea and everybody who works for them, they make the decision to work for them and they decide to make bullshit amd agree to that, like what the actual fuck, skate 3 was already a big downgrade compared to skate 2, you can feel the love and the passion in skate 1 and 2 and especially the skate culture vibe (make thrasher parts, get sponsored, invade the skate scene with your increasing skill and style etc..) and it is just not there.. at all

Waiting on EA to not be a shitty game company? I wouldn’t hold my breath. I won’t buy anything EA is involved with anymore. I don’t care how good it is; battlefront 2 was the last straw for me. They suck the passion and soul out of any project they are involved in
So im getting to play test this right now. A lot of us on the forums are really trying to nail in that it needs to feel more like the old games. Parkour, while it scared me at first, makes sense in the scheme on things. We're a skater. We wanna get to hidden or interesting skate locations, and sometimes that means climbing shit. Skins and boards ect are locked behind 'Taps' which you earn by doing challenges and such. Personally, i think theyre focusing too much on the 'community' aspect of skating. Too many spots seem built around being easily found and skated at currently. Also, the size of the map scares me. I hope we're only testing a portion of the map, because if not i can only imagine new maps will be DLC of some sort. I'm down to answer questions about what i know from the playtest if yall wanna ask anything
Will there be or is there currently a park creator mode? Not within the map. I'm talking skate 3 style where you actually have a template area to build parks on. That's what I wanna know more than anything.
when you look at the map you see highway quitting the city and i thinks its gonna be different place map like in skate 3 ( school district , city center district , industrial district) and i hope its gonna be more like 5 or 6 place because if its the last skate they need a huge map to dont make it boring... and add more after time more city or wtv ..what im scare for is the challenge.. what i like from old skate game is the story progress .. making challenge and event to become the greatest skater and unlock stuff.. i dont want to have only ''own the spot'' kinda challenge , make a sponsored street event .. remake real event like sls or something like that ... we need progression over the story not just an open city that you just skate without doing any even because its not giving you anything more than taps to buy blank t-shirt and boring jeans.. and the challenge of getting coin in parkour /walking is so trash dammn its a skate game make skate event ... make me parkour for getting to spot you cant go while skating but dont make an event about it....
i hope they dont make goofyness a main component, skate 3 was goofy because it was broken, skate 4 will be goofy for the sake of being goofy and i just cant imagine it being as fun
Facts. Let the players make the game goofy. Developers don't understand why the concept of goofiness is funny. We find how to break an almost perfect game. We find out all the stupid things we can do. They shouldn't put it right in our face
They should’ve kept the formula, make a single player and add mp on the side. So many game developers are skipping that aspect altogether and focusing waaayy too much on trying to make everything mp to sell micros
Devs also plan to keep jobs. Most don't wanna make call of duty 1, 2.. 3... 4.... With risks to each new title. Idk imo it's very unfair to just say "come out with a one time purchase and give us everything! Why would you guys not wanna idk, incentivise TRIPLE the players to come via FREE game..." Like idk. Monetization doesn't have to be evil
@@gamist8166This isn't about anyone keeping jobs, this is about an industry that is more valuable than ever but the workers don't even see the color of the money made from the monetization. The shareholders just order the studios to make the lowest common denominator content to keep milking and endlessly increase the rate of profit to the detriment of the products and customer satisfaction, but they'll never fall because it's a systemwide problem, not a company or industry specific one.
I wish they would have just waited a few more years before announcing it because in june 2020 when it got announced I was so excited. It's now 2024 and I'm just feeling more and more "ehhhh" as I see new content. I feel the hype train has stopped already.
This is what I've been saying on other posts about this game. I'm a huge fan of the series so far. I'm not excited for this version. I wish they (the people working on it) were talking about how gritty its going to be, or how great and creative you can get street skating small spots.
Same thing happen to me with Days Gone. Seemed like the perfect zombie open world with a badass biker. As time went on i got less hype abt it and by time it came out i didnt even purchase it. By the time i DID get around to playing it, the beginning just felt like it was missing something. However once i finished the game i found myself loving the story and my custom motorcycle. So hopefully this new Skate game can ATLEAST be a hidden gem
@@JoshBonesJones now I gotta finally play days gone. I own it only played 2 seconds of it. Literally. Lol. Like if it's not gta I won't play it (kidding I play sifu, rollerdrome, session etc) seems like these days.
i grew up playing skate 2 and 3 with my older brothers and best friend’s and i don’t really know how to explain it but everytime i booted those games up and got to playing for hours on end it felt like i was on vacation, skating new parts of the city’s and unlocking stuff and doing missions and own the spots with pros. video games are just not like that anymore
@@jordann.sb123eh, having hype because people haven’t played a new one in a while and high expectations are two different things. Anyone that knows EA would have absolutely minimal expectations here lol
So yesterday I met an old friend of mine. We grew up skating together and also playing skate 1-3 together. He played the skate playtests a few days ago and he was only disappointed. The physics are adjusted to fit the whole parkour and mega ramps aspect of the game. "normal" skating just doesn't fit the physics model anymore and it feels unnatural like skating on the moon he said. The whole community aspect was also too oversaturated. The map was filled with unrealistic stuff and he really missed a "normal" place to skate, doing some missions etc. In general we can expect Fortnite on a skateboard with 0 links to the old games
The map in the beta is not the map in the game, they've said this in numerous videos. It's meant to be weird and atypical because it's there to be a testing ground.
Yeah I actually couldn’t believe it either. I still have high hopes for the new skate and I also think the map was built like that for testing purposes. But regarding the physics I kinda believe him. The air time in videos looks ridiculous and what always bothered me in the plattest videos was the „magnetic force“ you can see between animations. But yes it’s a very early built and not representative for the final game
have it your way EA, i would’ve happily paid £90 for the game and an expansion pass but instead I’ll play for a few hours and give you literally no money.
I have a feeling that this game is gonna be the best installment from a gameplay PoV, but everything else is going to be soulless and devoid of anything that made the original series so iconic.
This will be the Fortnite of Skateboarding. It will be a glorified Arcade game that will make EA tons of $. They want masses playing this, not Sim Skateboarding game players.
Freemeuim games feel like shit to exist in imo. Riders Republic is paid and feel like freemeuim too. These extreme sport games are just kinda cursed. Everything is an ad to buy some currency. It sucks.
it may not be called 'skate 4' but its wild to think that its already been almost 4 YEARS since it got announced😳💀💀 and we still have no idea really where we are at with this game. Plus a lot of bombs got dropped in those dev meetings (free to play, looking to make it a long term service game, etc) so idk how to feel :/
I think with SKATE a live service game would work really well Look at skate 3, it has a community that has been going strong for years now and on top of that community maps, so I don't think a live service game will be a bad thing In the case of skate I can see them adding a bunch of stuff post launch and maybe emphasizing different places to skate
@@derrickshowproductions3010it can work, I think there’s is just a divide between Skate players. There’s a lot of us that played the Skate games because it was much more like a skate simulator than the Tony Hawk games. Plus, it made you feel like you were progressing into a pro. Skate 3 was goofy and the trick-lining “triple nollie heel bs noseblunt nollie laser flip out” bullshit just annoys skaters. I’m also just not a fan of multiplayer games, I prefer gaming alone and hanging out with people in real life and then maybe we might play split screen
@@Timbo360 @Timbo360 I think it's a stretch to say that the triple nollie tricks annoy skaters since there are a ton of skateboarders who play skate 3 and the tony hawk games and don't mind it, part of what made skateboarding appealing was the ridiculous shit you tried to do during the 1990's and 2000's Now there is nothing wrong with wanting or preferring a more realistic skateboarding game, I'm not trying to criticize your or anybody tastes or anything it's why people like Skater XL or Session, Problem with those games in my personal opinion is they struggle with not being as polished and a feature complete game as something like Skate is, as a skate simulator I think Skate 3 works pretty well overall just by kind of giving you the option of playing it as a skate simulator. With Tony hawk games the whole point is ridiculous tricks, with skate 3 it's more of something people choose to do in the game, you can 100% play Skate 3 as a Skate sim, hell even turn on realism mode, it might lack the difficulty of real life skateboarding but you can go do real life skateboarding for that or play a different challenging video game to scratch the same itch I don't think the game is going to force you to play online, I think what Skate is trying to accomplish is in a way what Skate 3 is already accomplishing and based off of what I've played with the open demo it's just better
@@derrickshowproductions3010 I hear ya. I realize you grew up playing Skate 3 so we are also going to have different perspectives on it; I grew up playing Tony Hawk and Skate came out when I going into high school, and I skated back then. It was pretty unanimous back then that Skate 3 was a downgrade in certain respects, but was cool the new tricks you could do like darkslides. In Skate 1, you had missions where you’re doing a photo op and choosing the photo and most people would try to emulate real tricks. There’s also a reason there’s so much hate for that dude who’s been playing Skate 3 for a decade plus and just tricklines. People can play how they want for sure, but it’s just a similar criticism as fans of Assassin’s Creed games from the beginning had issues with the newer games like Original and Valhalla; they weren’t bad games, but they were bad Assasin’s Creed games, if that makes sense.
As someone who's played the Beta, its fucking stellar, the grinding feels better already and the jankyness is almost only present in the parkour aspect. Dont let Nostalgia cloud judgement. This game is gonna be a hit
I was one of the playtesters who were playing it early way before play testing was “public” and I have numerous clips to prove it too. The games mechanics are next level and EA is doing everything right so far with this release. The closed play testing that continuously is going on the developers are not only involved they are taking continuous feedback for bugs and ideas. When the finished product is out you will be extremely surprised. The mechanics alone had my brother and I play an unfinished game for 40 hours within 5 days. I think you will all be surprised 🤷🏻
It’s funny because in all the boardroom meetings all of their clothes look BRAND NEW like the creasing in the clothes from being packaged are still on their hoodies 😂
@@WARHEADFRED they've already gotten small animations done, and they're planning on moving to UE5 session is gonna do so much better than skater xl and possibly even skate(but debatable considering how many casual and non casual skate fans there are)
A game that should have been made years ago but has been left to be hyped into mythical status by the community being released as a f2p game while dropping all singleplayer content the series has been loved for might release as a bad game in a time when 99% of new game releases are complete let downs? Nah. Doubt it.
You made a good point tho, this game should’ve BEEN created a long time ago, like around 2015-2017 LAST GEN already, they really don’t care at all about skate, the skate 4 interview tells us everything we need to know honestly, they freaking look like mindless brain rotten NPCS with there flourided stare, the old dude looks like the only one with a soul, I almost feel bad honestly.
RE4 remake tickled my fancy for sure but that’s like a needle in a haystack, the battle for bikini bottom remake just upped the graphics and that’s it and took out quality features from original and that seems to be the trend these days with remakes or sequels
I played the september alpha test and it was really good, I just hope that theres multiple maps and not just the city cause ngl i got used to the city way too fast, i found a lot of fun speed glitches, the tricks still felt like they needed a lot of polishing but it felt better than the past skate games in some aspects like grinding and pushing, parkour isnt as much as a focus as some people think, its just something to do and theres some missions for it but they are honestly fun, parkour mostly exists to make getting to secret spots or higher spots easier, i think once the games actually done itll be super ironed out and well rounded, they are listening to feedback more than ive seen any game company listen to feedback so that makes me somewhat hopeful, i just hope its a good enough game where it stays alive for awhile, i see the vision and its definitely a good vision they just need to get this game out at the right time.
Skate 4 is either going to be what we all imagined that we wanted or it's going to be the very thing that kills the skate image/franchise and we all hate it🤷
As someone who's been in all the play tests. I think the gameplay for a game in testing feels good rn. I think that the parkour however is glitchy and has too much of an emphasis instead of focusing on skating. Hopefully that changes at full launch
Skate 3 always had multiplayer aspects. That said all your concerns are valid I really hope they don’t ruin this man skate 2 and 3 were my childhood. EA doesn’t give me much faith though
Agree, but the last point seems to not even be true anymore lol. Fighting games like Street Fighter, Tekken or MK1 have been doing that thing where you pay full price to get the game, it gets good reviews, and then they add in a mtx store where you can only get skins for real money and there's no way to grind for them otherwise. Amazing. So I don't really mind Skate being f2p lmao
@@trustworthydan I wasn’t really knocking Session by saying that. You’d just expect a AAA project from a major developer to be better than a small company-made game is all. I do hope Skate has settings available similar to Session that can tune for more realistic gameplay tho.
people are judging a game that's in pre-alpha as of rn, and realistically it'll prob be released next year, but, all in all, i'm not gonna judge it based on pre-alpha tests / still little info and be patient to learn more about it as the development goes on
Skate 4 was only made because EA wanted to capitalize on the success of SkaterXL and Session.. If EA really cared about making good skateboarding games, they wouldn't have waited this long to even start development on Skate 4. It's a cash grab, it won't be good.
It has to be a licensing issue. The same reason the old Forza Horizons got removed, their licensing for the songs (or whatever else, gear, shoes, etc) must have run out after a decade.
there should be an in-game trading system, so you can trade item to item, or item to in-game currency, this could translate to consoles and mobile as well, and would combat against the perma-purchase microtransactions.
I played it, it is amazing, the gameplay is soo much more fluid than skate 3. I feel most of your criticisms are about cosmetics which are objectively not the point of the game. I feel like the "hate" (mostly the comment section) is a little misplaced
I played a lot of skate 3 growing up, and after playing the new skate play test recently, I can confidently say, it, feels and plays the same as I remember it. Which is not realistic but goofy in a fun way. Tbh, I'm worried, it's too similar. But I would forget about that with the addition of some good maps.
Back a couple years ago when talks of microtransactions were being implemented into this new Skate game, that’s where my faith in this new game had fallen and never came back. Shame.
I really hope they do it well and dont make us wait for a dogshit game. Parkour sounds good and it being goofy seems pretty neat. We cant always think negatively.
The thing I’ll miss is the story. I loved the goofy, but still structured story line. That made it feel more like a complete world and not just an empty sandbox. You see this in session and skaterxl, great mechanics but the world feels cold and empty without a fun story and characters.
I was in highschool when all 3 came out and I've played them all pretty consistently since. Bought them on every console I've had since then. I went out and bought a Series S when the game was announced, 4 years ago, because I thought it would be sooner. I share your "wait and see" skepticism. I'd rather buy a whole game outright and play a story by myself than online free to play
i was really optimistic as first because i thought "surely, they won't butcher this franchise that's so loved to this day. even though this is EA, I have hope." but the more time passes, I feel like this will be rider's republic all over again.
Love the way you edited this video and the whole “character” implantation was very chill and it really felt like you were talking to me in a good way. Keep up the great work, your effort really shines through in the quality of the video! I think (really really hope) this game will actually surprise us!
honestly i’m hyped for a new game but i don’t really care for arcade skate games anymore. simulators are the new wave. ik they aren’t doing dual stick controls to stay true to the old style but im rlly gonna need a hard realism difficulty to keep playing. a simple flick isn’t satisfying anymore
I tried going back to Skate 3 after playing Session a lot. I just kept doing Session controls. They just make so much more sense. I always played Skate 3 on hardcore too. It was just the closest we had to what I really wanted and that's Session. I just wish it had multiplayer.
@@burgerbaitI honestly haven't gone back to Skate3. And I own the skate series. And my ps3. I still play NFS prostreet. I still play ps1 and ps2 games. I only skate in session now, and snow board in shredders. I can't wait for BMX streets
I think this game will definitely feel different than what we think of when we think of skate. It seems like it's going to be more of a "make of it what you will" situation. The world seems pretty detailed and full of good spots to skate and it's not like you can't pretend like you're skating for real and hit "realistic lines". I have high hopes that the new format this game is taking on will not only bring a good skateboard game we can play for years to come (especially with future updates making it better), but it'll also create a new space for gamers to be social like the good old days
Skate 3 was my absolute fave on the Xbox 360, i even loved messing around with Hall of Meat mode on top of the Quarry. I hope Skate 4 lives up to the potential
Ngl the playtest exceeded my expectations a lot, especially with how early it is, I think we have more than a year before we get a date but it's pretty nice so far.
The thing is, it shouldn't still be early. To put it into perspective, all 3 of the previous Skate games were done and released in the same time span Skate got revealed at EA play 2020 to present day.. I know making games in 2024 is a lot harder and expensive compared to the late 2000s but still, multi billion dollar company backing Full Circle yet the game is still in pre alpha??..
one of the best intros ever, made me understand what your experimenting with and made me curious to watch you how you do it completely separate from being interested in the video itself. sucks to say as an animator, but that's how you do it.
I have played it. Animation/fluidity of the skating, and new trick selection, it makes Skate 3 look like THPS3. As for story/career I am not expecting much. But hey, Skate 3 shat the bed on that as well and buddy here still ate it up.
Once there was emphasis put on parkour I lost interest. Trying to add too much will kill it. I have moved on from skate. I think Session is the best skateboarding game to date. Whenever I go back to skate (skate 2 was my favorite) the controls just feel too ardade-like. It feels like going back to tony hawk 2.
I agree with liking customization and making your avatar one of a kind, but to me it's less of a big deal. As someone who also grew up playing all the skate games, the gameplay and skateboarding mechanics is the reason I go back time and time again. That's what makes the game for me.
dude i played it it's actually really fun and good, also i was able to play with mouse and keyboard and it was a fantastic experience, actually pretty fucking good, the game is fun as hell even unfinished. as good as the other ones, once this is finished i'm sure it will be on par with the other games of the series.

It does look better than skate 3. But a ps4-ps5 game could look better. And the game looks damn near identical to skate 3
as long as they have the mechanics down i, as an adult, dont fear microtransactions or Online only games, especially if it gives me the oppurtunity to run lines with friends. Just like the old days. honestly, as a OG skate one player when i was a kid I think online online is only good for a game like this. not a massive rpg
I loved skate 2 because the bails and when skate 3 came out I was disappointed because it felt to stiff but it ended up being one of my favourite games as I got older. Skate 4 I feel is gonna have that realism in bails and more tricks (hopefully)
what i really like here that alot of people are overlooking is how the enviroment in the videos they show are texture packs thing still which means they are highly focused on the core mechanics and getting it to feel right to the best they possibly can. i think this couldd be really good overall. looks pretty damn good running from the pre pre alpha stage they are showing to us. but only time will tell. i belive they will do the right thing.
@@Bennjipie When I used to work for other people there was no rambling on. We get to the point then get moving. If my boss was yapping I would tell him. Lol
Bright side is at least they know what type of game they wanna make and for that I'll try it out. but if everything cosmetic is locked behind a battlepass I won't be playing long. That being said it's games like this that makes me miss the good old days when millions of copies sold alone were just enough to satisfy the AAA companies and their shareholders now every AAA company makes games solely for a subscription fee. Some of them outright jumping the gun losing money instead of earning it.
As a playtester for pc and mobile I can't say anything, but it is honestly really fun and I don't think it can be put above the other skate games. It has the same feel yet a differnt feel at the same time! I do 100% reccomend it though and love skating around with people. There is no lag really so yea its cool.
Bmx streeeeeets is where my moneys at. Skate 4 is so anticipated right. But I grew up riding bikes and skateboards. And I can say, having a true skate style bmx game is world changing. I’ve been waiting since ea skate dropped on the 360.
The pre-alpha has been fun so far, but it's still hard to say how the final game will turn out. I'd suggest signing up to be a play tester on EA's website so you can have a go at it as well.
Never got into 3 because I was a Nintendo kid but my friend had Skate 2 on his 360 and we played that shit SO much. Never played at Tony hawk game, or any other skating game. Was really hoping to relive those memories with this game, doesn't seem like it
Those boardroom meetings look like they're being held hostage. The fact that they've said they aren't doing loot crates, the game is free, and they're taking this much time all seem like huge red flags.
i love youtube's new algorithm, never would i have seen this video before youtube decided to start pushing smaller sub channels to my suggested. good video
When this got announced it was right when there was the mini skateboarding game boom and there was lots of discourse about Tony Hawk/Skater XL/Session. It was like EA trying to piggyback on the movement and get their IP out of the closet again. I wouldn’t be shocked to find that as the years have gone EA have got more of their hands over the direction of the project and are moving it further and further away from what skate games are about.
Honestly I think everyone seems to be worried because it’s something new and I get EA has had a pretty bad track record especially free to play games but I think this honestly looks fun as hell and I can’t wait to play it with all my friends
Dope editing style tbhh, hope you make more skate content. When the new Smate drops I just hope it doesn’t focus too much on the new mantling/parkour aspect
skate 3 was very online focused. It was the main thing that separated it from S2.... in S3, having a team of friends all contributing to the online portal gallery was rad. Seeing other players rate our group choreographed video clips and photos was so much fun and it tied well into the board sales currency of the campign in the game.
Ive been on 2 of the beta tests and it's pretty good the mechanics are getting better each time and you can climb or find a way up almost every building on the map it's a good time

i agree! skate 3 was definitely goofy because of the glitches!
Facts. Let the players make the game goofy.
Developers don't understand why the concept of goofiness is funny. We find how to break an almost perfect game. We find out all the stupid things we can do. They shouldn't put it right in our face
They're 100% going for the goofyness. Just look at their update videos.

@@gamist8166This isn't about anyone keeping jobs, this is about an industry that is more valuable than ever but the workers don't even see the color of the money made from the monetization. This is what I've been saying on other posts about this game. I'm a huge fan of the series so far. I'm not excited for this version. I wish they (the people working on it) were talking about how gritty its going to be, or how great and creative you can get street skating small spots.
For real bro. It got announced basically when I was in 9th Grade...

Same thing happen to me with Days Gone. Seemed like the perfect zombie open world with a badass biker. As time went on i got less hype abt it and by time it came out i didnt even purchase it. In general we can expect Fortnite on a skateboard with 0 links to the old games
that blows. but its nice to meet old friends! glad you both could talk, thats awesome!
This is the best way to describe it. Fortnite on a skateboard. Nothing more.

Plus a lot of bombs got dropped in those dev meetings (free to play, looking to make it a long term service game, etc) so idk how to feel :/
f2p is awesome
I think with SKATE a live service game would work really well
Look at skate 3, it has a community that has been going strong for years now and on top of that community maps, so I don't think a live service game will be a bad thing
In the case of skate I can see them adding a bunch of stuff post launch and maybe emphasizing different places to skate
@@Timbo360 @Timbo360 I think it's a stretch to say that the triple nollie tricks annoy skaters since there are a ton of skateboarders who play skate 3 and the tony hawk games and don't mind it, part of what made skateboarding appealing was the ridiculous shit you tried to do during the 1990's and 2000's
Now there is nothing wrong with wanting or preferring a more realistic skateboarding game, I'm not trying to criticize your or anybody tastes or anything it's why people like Skater XL or Session,
Problem with those games in my personal opinion is they struggle with not being as polished and a feature complete game as something like Skate is,
as a skate simulator I think Skate 3 works pretty well overall just by kind of giving you the option of playing it as a skate simulator. With Tony hawk games the whole point is ridiculous tricks, with skate 3 it's more of something people choose to do in the game, you can 100% play Skate 3 as a Skate sim, hell even turn on realism mode, it might lack the difficulty of real life skateboarding but you can go do real life skateboarding for that or play a different challenging video game to scratch the same itch
I don't think the game is going to force you to play online, I think what Skate is trying to accomplish is in a way what Skate 3 is already accomplishing and based off of what I've played with the open demo it's just better
This game is gonna be a hit
yh i just hope corporate ea doesn’t suck the soul out of it with micro transactions like their other games.
It'll have no actual aesthetic that made skate 2 so special. Corporate garbage.

As soon as I heard “free-to-play,” every ounce of hope I ever had went out of the window.
Skate 4 is either going to be what we all imagined that we wanted or it's going to be the very thing that kills the skate image/franchise and we all hate it🤷
"online only and free" oh god help us its gonna be ass
As someone who's been in all the play tests. I think the gameplay for a game in testing feels good rn. I think that the parkour however is glitchy and has too much of an emphasis instead of focusing on skating. Hopefully that changes at full launch
Another thing about helldivers is that none if it's battle passes will ever expire. So you never miss anything.
I was in the playtests over 2 years ago!!! I can confirm its very fun, slightly tweaked physics like a mix between skate 1 and 3 !!
Awesome, I'm still pretty excited about it.
Even at it’s worst, I think Skate 4 will at least be better than Session and XL. Honestly, that’s all I need.
Sessions isnt bad. Its super boring, no real goals except your own creativity, but its not the worst.
@@trustworthydan I wasn’t really knocking Session by saying that. You’d just expect a AAA project from a major developer to be better than a small company-made game is all. I do hope Skate has settings available similar to Session that can tune for more realistic gameplay tho.

@@failure1068 they both have their pros and cons, but I agree. The ideal game would honestly have Skater XL's animations and Session's physics.
For what? It'll never be better than session in terms of gameplay customization and realistic gameplay.

people are judging a game that's in pre-alpha as of rn, and realistically it'll prob be released next year, but, all in all, i'm not gonna judge it based on pre-alpha tests / still little info and be patient to learn more about it as the development goes on
it has been on pre-pre-alpha since like mid 2021 showing almost no progress
@@siedkk2538 LMAO MY POINT EXACTLY. PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO BE POSITIVE ABOUT BUT THERE'S NO WAY YOU CAN. IT'S LOOKING BAD FOR SKATE..
Skate 4 was only made because EA wanted to capitalize on the success of SkaterXL and Session.. If EA really cared about making good skateboarding games, they wouldn't have waited this long to even start development on Skate 4. It's a cash grab, it won't be good.
I don't get why skate 2's not on game pass, like was there an issue with the soundtrack cuz I can't work out hat other reason they'd have
It has to be a licensing issue.

We've always got skate 3
one of the best intros ever, made me understand what your experimenting with and made me curious to watch you how you do it completely separate from being interested in the video itself. sucks to say as an animator, but that's how you do it.
i am also so worried lol. They couldve taken skate 3 and added new maps and everyone wouldve been so hyped.
It feels like going back to tony hawk 2.

the parkour is to get around more easy, its more freerunning, than random flip parkour as far as i can tell
I agree with liking customization and making your avatar one of a kind, but to me it's less of a big deal. As someone who also grew up playing all the skate games, the gameplay and skateboarding mechanics is the reason I go back time and time again. That's what makes the game for me.

as long as they have the mechanics down i, as an adult, dont fear microtransactions or Online only games, especially if it gives me the oppurtunity to run lines with friends. Just like the old days. honestly, as a OG skate one player when i was a kid I think online online is only good for a game like this. not a massive rpg

Oh sure, when has EA ever dropped the ball 🙄
what i really like here that alot of people are overlooking is how the enviroment in the videos they show are texture packs thing still which means they are highly focused on the core mechanics and getting it to feel right to the best they possibly can. i think this couldd be really good overall. looks pretty damn good running from the pre pre alpha stage they are showing to us. but only time will tell. i belive they will do the right thing.

It was like EA trying to piggyback on the movement and get their IP out of the closet again. I wouldn’t be shocked to find that as the years have gone EA have got more of their hands over the direction of the project and are moving it further and further away from what skate games are about.
A free to play game with cosmetics. That tells you everything you need to know
Honestly I think everyone seems to be worried because it’s something new and I get EA has had a pretty bad track record especially free to play games but I think this honestly looks fun as hell and I can’t wait to play it with all my friends
Can’t speak much on the new skate but I’m gonna say it’s fun from what I dealt over the past year and leave it at that before I get myself in trouble
Ive been on 2 of the beta tests and it's pretty good the mechanics are getting better each time and you can climb or find a way up almost every building on the map it's a good time
