Please help!! Last year when I opened our inground pool we did not use algaecide on cover (we have same style cover as this one but made by Latham) and did not let the cover dry outside. This year when I closed pool there are black spot/patches thoughout the top of the cover. Am I screwed or can the black marks on the cover be cleaned? The cover is blue in color but now has black patches all over. I assume it's black algae. It's not a thick layer but it appears embedded to the top of cover. Thank you!!!

Just put the cover on at closing and you'll be ok until spring. Clean it off then. Most likely it will be all gone anyway.
